Life has been busy.  Working out hard at the gym 4 times a week.  Two times a week with my personal trainer.  Weight is definitely coming off because my clothes are getting so big and quickly.  The scale has been slow but I'm not worrying about that number.  It doesn't control me.  I know the weight is dropping.

Challenge for myself..... I committed to doing a half marathon on May 6.....the day before my 45th birthday.  Doing this with my friend Jeanne who challenged me to do it with her.  She has run many races so this is a bit intimidating to me.  BUT, I'm training hard for it and my goal is to complete it to get a medal.  That's my focus right now.

I'm feeling great.  Very motivated.  Constantly moving my body.  I am starting to notice the weight loss in myself.  It's taken a while to register with my mind.

Scale finally moving.  Tough week.  Ever since I've had the WLS I've been getting my monthly cycle like clockwork.  I have PCOS and I am not used to this.  I felt so bloated the past 5 days.  Was so thankful that the scale was down today.

Staying positive. Staying focused.  Looking forward to Christmas and seeing people who haven't seen me in months.  I hope they are surprised!

So this past week the scale has not moved.
I survived Thanksgiving.  I have been very active at the gym.  My trainer is pushing me hard.  So much cardio.  I can already notice the difference.

Double sinus infection finally starting to clear up.  The dizziness has stopped.  Thank goodness.  That was hard to take.  Never knew when it would hit me.  Breathing is greatly improved as well.

Wish the scale would move.  I have a goal for December 25 and I don't want to disappoint myself.  Day by day.  That's the best I can do.

Today is week 10. I had a very good week.....down 4.4 pounds.

I had a doctor's appointment today.  My doctor was very pleased with my weight loss.  Actually he said I have lost a lot of weight.  Gave me some great feed back and encouragement.  I really love my doctor.

I was glad to learn that my dizziness for the past week is due to a double sinus infection.  Mega doses of antibiotics for the next 5 days.

I also learned I have bursitis in my right hip.  I am determined to not have this slow me down or delay my training.  I missed one training session due to the dizziness.  No more!!

Today my trainer had me running.....yes, that's right....RUNNING at the gym.  I was very self conscious BUT I DID IT!!!
Baby steps.  Baby steps.  One day at a time.  That's how I do it.

SO looking forward to having a day off this week.  I can't wait to just relax.

Week 9

9 weeks post-op 236
BMI down 9.6
Down 54 lbs.

This is the 3rd month in a row that I've gotten my cycle.  So odd for me with my PCOS.  I'm positive the weight loss has to be why.  This is something else I have to get adjusted to.  I'm used to going months without getting it.  I'm being more aware and tracking this now.

My sessions at the gym with my trainer are going well.  Getting good cardio workouts and weights too.  My trainer is great and is a great motivator.  Probably one of the better choices I have made for myself.

Going away for the weekend.  Can't wait!!  I have a cute new dress to wear with my knee-high boots.

Week 8

Nov 10, 2011

BMI down 9.1

I am down 52 total.  My first week with only a 1 pound loss.  It certainly is weird how the body works.  Even funny how our brain wants those blessed numbers to go down on the scale.

I'm not concerned.  I have been doing lots of good cardio at the gym.  This week I hired a personal trainer.  He will work with me 2 nights a week for a year.  Then he wants me working out at the gym at least another 2 times in the week.  He is a really nice man.  He has had weight issues himself and he's understanding.

Goal this week is to increase fluids a bit.  Aiming for an additional 8-18 oz.  Time will tell.

I am down 51 total.  I've very pleased with this.  I've received some very nice compliments for people who haven't seen me in a few months.

I've done a little shopping.  I'm fitting into 18/20's comfortably and I'm happy with this.

Today I started back at the gym.  It felt good.  My right hip is causing the same old problems.  I'm 1/2 inch shorter on my left leg and working out always causes pain in my hip all the way down to my knee.  I just try to suck it up but man it is hard some times.  I have percocets to help but really don't want to take them just to be able to work out comfortably.  We will see.

My daughter started the gym today with me.  She did great.  She's 13.  I'm proud of her.

Eating is going ok.  Have had a few issues with some veggies.  I will attempt those again in a week or so.
Fluid intake is going well.  I'm needing to stay focused on that....sometimes forcing myself to get ounces in.  I know it will get better.

It is getting easier and I'm definitely happy with my decision to have the surgery.

Today's thoughts

Oct 17, 2011

Been trying different beverages.  I'm not liking Crystal Light so much.  Found some Sobe drinks that are zero calories, zero sugar.  Trying these.  I like water but find I need to mix it up a bit.  I'm getting bored and have to stay focused on getting in my liquids each day.  I wasn't so good this past week.  My goal this week is to stay focused and get in all my daily fluids.  I'll be looking around for other brands to try as well.   Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I think my vitamins are leaving an awful taste in my mouth.  I feel like I'm brushing my teeth excessively.  Must be the iron.

I have received a few positive compliments from people.  They have noticed my weight loss.  Made me feel good.  It helps mentally.

I'm being taken out Friday night.  I have a cute new dress to wear and new knee-high boots.  I'm very excited!
