Timeline of events
01/??/2003: Went to seminar for NWWLS @ Evergreen Hospital
01/??/2003: Had consultation with nutritionist & Dr. Montgomery
01/??/2003: Found UHC *would pay* 100% for in-plan WLS, but no "in-plan" doctors within 3 states. However if I paid 100% upfront, post surgery they would reimburse me 80%. Didn't have that kind of cash, and moved on with my life.
07/02/2007: Made consultation appointment with Dr. Hunter @ Virginia Mason.
07/18/2007: Got pissed off @ Virginia Mason's complete incompetence & horrible experience. On the way hope in tears I called NWWLS on the way home and explained history and current situation. Got new appointments schedualled for day after.
07/20/2007: Psych eval with Linda
07/27/2007: Met with Esther, Trish & Dr. Montgomery. Got surgery date. Bought crap load of Medifast & start pre-op diet.
08/03/2007: Pre-surgery appointment with Heidi. Toured surgical part of the facility & received discharge info, doctors time off needed note & perscriptions.
08/08/2007: Surgery
So this is my second time trying to go through this process. My first time my insurence would pay for everything but only as reimbursment since they had no in-plan bariatric doctors. The second time, its 4 years later and I have different insurence that does have in-plan bariatric doctors. So here we go again. I'll update this more as I recover from surgery.
