My name is Julie and I am 48 years old, 5’4” and 235 lbs. I’ve struggled with my weight since I had my first child at age 18. I wasn’t even that heavy then but slowly gained weight over the last 30 years even with numerous successful weight loss ventures during those years…..but was with most people on this sight it always came back plus some. My highest weight was 250lbs in 2009 right before knee surgery. I have since had both of my knees replaced which has aided in some weight loss, just not sustainable weight loss. For the sake of my new knees and to stave off any medical issues that may be headed my way I started looking seriously at WLS late 2011. My insurance approved the procedure on 23 March 2012 with surgery scheduled for 23 April 2012. This website has been very helpful in allowing me to read others stories of success with no regrets that made me know this decision to go forward with the Sleeve Gastrectomy was right for me!
