Ok, so I'm not an active blogger..... but so far, so good.

I've been given instructions to stop the avandia (about a month ago).... and was recently given instructions to stop the high blood pressure meds.

So, I remain on 500 mg of metformin and my synthroid.  Of course, I take the supplements... calcium, vitamin, B12...

Wearing a size 18 now (down from size 26).   Folks I have nto seen in a while don't recognize me.

It's been 15 days.  I'm feeling great.  My endrocrinologist could not believe the progress I've made in 15 days!  I have gone from taking 80 units of 75/25 humalog insulin to -0-.... that's zero!!!!  The instructions are to take 8 unit if and only if the blood sugars reach 200 for 3 readings in a row.

I still take some metformin (only 1/4 of what I used to take) and some avandia (1/2 of what I used to take.)

So the story continues.
