To dream anything that you want to dream, that is the beauty of the human mind. To do anything that you want to do, that is the strength of the human will. To trust yourself, to test your limits, that is the courage to succeed. Bernard Edmonds

Well I made it, I am no a lap bander. I'm not in much pain, and actually feel pretty darn good. Although I am a bit hungry, have to get a little more creative with my liquid diet for the next two weeks, any tips would be most welcome. Thank you for your words of encouragment and prayers. Oh, I finally found out how to pick an angel, I always knew my mom was my angel but now it's official. Joni

Goodmorning to all. Joan had her surgery yesterday, at around 6:15 p.m. it lasted a little over an hour. She sang and danced her way into the O.R. she was that happy and excited. I left her at 10:30 last night, she felt good except for her mouth was very dry and she wanted so much to have a drink of water, but we all know that is a no-no. The nurse did give her a swab for her lips. The bottom line is that she is doing good and should be coming home this morning. I am waiting for her to call me. I want to thank you all for your support and prayers that you all have shown her. Barbara

Joan some of us love you in spite of your fat, some of us love you because of your fat. But the bottom line is this: No matter what your weight is your family loves you, and supports you. Joan would you mind if I hang up my mother strings and put on a pair of angel wings for you ha? I wish you the best and I will be there by your side tomorrow, before and after the surgery. Love Mom...

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery! The next year is going to be the most amazing of your life. I know that you must feel as anxious and nervous as I did ten months ago. But soon this waiting game will only be a memory and you will be on to your new life. I am 10 months post op and I have lost 130 pounds. I went from a size 24 to a 4 in a little over 6 months. Miracles do and will happen for you. I have tried to keep a profile that can be used as a resource for pre-ops. That answers all of the questions that I had when I was in your shoes. And links to various places to do more of your own research. If you have any questions or just need someone to talk to that understands please feel free to email me.
