Well there's been a lot going on since my last post.  I was rushed into the hospital with a partial bowel obstruction.  It seems that scar tissue had formed and some of my intestines got hung up on the scar tissue
Dr. Woods performed surgery on Tues. 12-04-2007 to correct the problems.  He did the surgery by LAP and I have 5 incesions where he went in for a look see.  Luckily there wasn't any real damage done to the intestines being kinked.  I had been having intermittened pain for about three months but the last three weeks the pain didn't let up so it was time I had it all checked out and corrected.
I was in the hospital for only 1 day and was able to come home.  Feeling a little soreness and tired but other than that feeling good.
Dr. said this is quite common with people that have lost a lot of weight because before things were compact and now there is much more room to move around.  Well I certainly hope these intestines of mine don't want to move around anymore.

Had my CT scan yesterday.  I had to drink this bottle of chalkey stuff mixed with 24 oz of liquid.  Of course we can't drink that much liquid in 2 hours!  And of course I barfed a couple of times.
The Dr. should have the results by Wed or Fri at the latest.  I am praying it's nothing to serious.  I am still having pain in the intestional area.  If it wasn't for the pain meds, I don't know what I'd do.
I haven't been to the YMCA or swimming in the last 2 weeks.  I just don't feel up to it.  I about gag on the thought of eating meat.   All I feel like doing is sitting around and sleeping.  THIS IS NOT GOOD!

Mid November already, just a week away from Thanksgiving.  I have so much to be thankful for.  The Lord has truly blessed me.
Lately maybe the last couple of months I have had stomach discomfort but, it would always go away.  Within the last couple of weeks it seems to be getting worse.  I actually am having pain and when I drink I get a sharp pain.  It only lasts for a couple of seconds but you surely know it's there.  I've not been feeling good and my color is very shallow also been sleeping a lot.
I've called Dr. Woods for help and on the 19th of Nov I have an appointment to have a CT scan at 1:00pm.  I would of thought he would of suggested a blood test first but he's the Dr.
I'm thinking it could be a bacterial infection from refilling plastic waterbottle but then my cousin suggested it could be divervaticaltous ( I'm sure I didn't spell it correctly).    Well no sense speculating I'll have my test on Monday and find out the cause.
My weight loss has slowed down tremendously and it make me anxious because I read others posts and see they lose over 100 lbs with 6-8 months and here I am miss pokey.  Oh well, I am still losing and for that I'm thankful.

Today is my one year anniversary of WLS.  I am down 115lbs. as of today.  I had an appointment with my internist and was quite surprised when I weighed in under 200.  I am 197 today.  Another WOW moment.
It seems I've been losing very slowly lately and I think I found one ofthe reason why.  Each morning before I go to the YMCA I have one slice of toast.  Doesn't sound bad but, let me tell you.  One slice of Poppyseed Hazelnut bread toasted with butter and Jelly.  OMG, 360 calories.  That's the end of toast for me.
Since I quit eating that toast a week ago I dropped 4 lbs.  I must stop and consider what is going into my mouth and be more aware!

Boy, it's been awhile again.  I just got back from a 3 day trip to Sault Saint Marie, MI.  Took a LONG 9 hour train ride to Awaga Canyon.  Wouldn't do it again, anyway I went with 3 other friends and we all brought snacks.  It seems that all we did was eat, eat, eat.  Fortunately, I didn't eat as much as I thought because I did lose 1 pound.
I was very happy to get back home and have some decent meals.  I didn't have any extra protein while I was gone but I did take my vitamins with me and I did get to swim at the Hotel while we were there.  Oh yes, and I walked more than I ever have.  I wished I had one of those meters to keep track.  I thought my hip was going to go out on me again but it didn't.  Thank God.

I was swimming yesterday and got on the scale and again it hasn't moved.  How disappointing,
I took mom for some blood work today and when we got there they were already closed.  They close at three now on Fridays.  A trip for nothing!
Afterwards we stopped for dinner at Leongs for dinner and I ate almost a whole cup of soup and a portion of my Lomain.  It seemed like a lot of food at the time but I didn't get sick or anything and it was so good.  They gave us so much food it will last for at least 4 more meals.
This morning we're going to Deckers Landing for breakfast.  I want to check it out for next weekend when my brother comes to town.

Well last night I found a web site that sold the GIF Animator very reasonable so I downloaded it.  Played around with it and much to my surprise it also has a resizer built right in, so I don't need that extra program to resize the pictures.  Give me the proper tools and I'll figure it out..
I was on the scale yesterday after swimming and I dropped another two pounds 102 now.

I got up this morning and washed the floors and did a load of laundry.  I didn't get to go bike riding today with the girls of the board because the garage door man came to late.  I did take the bike out and rode 2 miles and when I got home Jeanne called and I met her and her friend for lunch.  It was nice getting out with them.

Went to see Dr. Wood's today for my 6 month checkup.  I'm actually 9 months 11 days out but the news was wonderful.  I am down 100 lbs and taken off another 4 inches from my waiste, a total of 11 inches. Also, my blood work was in good range.  What a wonderful feeling that was.  I feel on top of the world with that news.
I took my bike to the bike shop todaydropped it off to get a new seat put on and two new tires and tubes.  My $20.00 bike has now cost me $80.00, however, I know I couldn't find a new one for that price, so I am satisified with the results.

Had a garage sale this weekend,  did pretty well, although it was quite hot out.  I have been thinking about getting a bike to ride, but in the back of my mind I'm thinking where am I going to find a 3 speed 24".  I need to reach the ground.  I have been tossing this around for some time now but have not done anything about it.
Well, this morning on my way to church a lady was wheeling out a small bicycle for her garage sale.
Yep, I stopped, It's a 10 speed (don't know how to work the gears) 24" and in good condition.  Well for $20.00 I bought it.  I took it over my son-in-laws to raise the seat and he told me the tires were dry rot.  There goes my GOOD BUY!  And the seat hurt's my butt.  I did ride it 2 miles on Monday 7-30-07.  Ouch!
Off to the bike shop we go.
