According to MY scale anyway! I'll be going in this coming week to see my family doctor for a follow-up so we'll see what her scale says.
I'm still sore especially on my right side. Last night I slept in my bed for the first time. It wasn't too bad. I think I spent most of the time sleeping on my back. I took a shower this morning and that wiped me out. I'm back downstairs in my recliner but within a half-hour the headache returned so I am POSITIVE it's from this chair as when I went upstairs last night, the headache was GONE within 30 minutes!
Today is my son's 5th birthday. He's my only child. Can't believe he's 5. Gonna go outside for a bit to get some excercise in. It's a beautiful day here in NE Ohio!

Came home yesterday. The Dr had me stay an extra day as I had some leakage from one of the trocar sites. I'm mainly sore on my right lower side. The Dr said surgery went well. The nursing staff was impressed at how well I did post-op. I just got done showering and washing my hair and feel so much better but that really wore me out! Want to take a nap now but I've got a LOT of sipping to do. Also had a bowel movement today--the first one post-op. DH is getting mad that he has to do this and that for me right now....

Pre-op diet

This pre-op SF Carnation Instant diet breakfast sucks! But I know I have to do it so I plug along....It's Friday....three days before my surgery. Waiting for the hospital to call me to let me know what time I'm having surgery on Monday and what time I need to get there. I am supposedly already registered as the registration clerk did that when I had bloodwork done back on 4/7 after my consent signing appt with the surgeon.
I'd be lying if I didn't say that I wasn't nervous...because I am. As an RN who has taken care of post-op gastric bypass patients in the ICU after a complication, I know what COULD happen to me. I also know that I have an EXCELLENT surgeon. That's why I picked him!!

3/23/09--today I got approval for RNY gastric bypass from my insurance company. I really didn't think it would get approved so quickly. I'm excited and scared at the same time. My weight has hovered at around 255lbs for a few years now. I'm 5'8" tall and also have type II diabetes, fatty liver, PCOS, pre-hypertension, high cholesterol, high triglycerides and chronic low back pain. So, even though my avatar doesn't show it, I am morbidly obese. I just started exercising as I joined a wellness center. I am looking forward to having a new lease on life!!
