I thought I post today just to wish everyone a Happy New Year and fill y'all in on my progress.  Things are still going great.  I'm down 60 lbs and I feel good most of the time.  I have been having some weird joint issues that weren't there before but i'm just taking it in stride.  Considering I'm not taking insulin, i'm not taking the 10 other meds to control my blood pressure, diabetes, chlesterol, and God only knows what else a few phantom hip pains is NO BIG DEAL.  

Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well.

Hi everyone.  I'm horrible at blogging...horrible in that I am inconsistent!  An update on my progress...I have been doing GREAT since my surgery on Sept 26.  Last week my PCP took me off all but one of my 9 Diabetes and HBP meds.  My A1C came back as a 6.4 which is excellent diabetes control.  I was especially happy since I haven't had any Insulin or other diabetes meds since my surgery date.  My BP was really good so we're aiming to take me off of the last BP med at my follow-up appt. on Dec 1.  

I think i'm finally getting out of the "no energy" slump.  Last week for the first time I was really jazzed to get to the gym (as opposed to dragging in on my last leg).  In the 6 weeks since my surgery I've lost 28 lbs.  I thought I would be losing a little faster but I can deal with 28 lbs.  I'm hoping to be under 30 lbs when I see my family next week for Thanksgiving.  I'm going back to Dr. Halmi on Friday and hopefully I will be upgraded to regular food.  I can say for a fact that Pureed Foods Suck!!  It is only made tolerable because I know it won't last forever!!  

Here's a funny story: Last week I was trying to get dressed for work and after going through 8 suits and 10 pairs of pants I could not find a single pair of pants that fit right.  SOOOO I had to safety pin my pants up and go to work until the stores opened at 10 and I could buy new pants!!  That was good feeling when compared with having to buy new pants because I couldn't zip the old ones.
