Five year WLS anniversary.

Jan 04, 2009

It's been five years since my surgery and I am living a happy and very busy life. I am working full time. The focus of my life is not weight or weight loss. Because I am not as concerned about weight loss I gained up to 259 pounds. But have lost back down to 236. That is an overall weight loss of 96 pounds after 5 years. I am so glad that I was able to have this surgery. My blood pressure, cholesterol, are normal without medication and I no longer need the CPAP machine for sleep apnea. In October I had a tummy tuck and hernia repair. That removed 12 pounds of fat and skin from my abdomen. I had some complications with healing after the tummy tuck. After ten weeks the incision is finally closed and I'm not in pain any more. I think I would do better maintaining my weight if I exercised regularly. That is one of my goals this year. My life has drastically changed in the last five years. I thank God that I was able to have the surgery that changed my life. I hope to post some pictures of my weight loss journey soon. I can hardly believe what I used to look like. Although I am still obese by doctors standards I feel and look so much better, and my overall health is better. I feel great.
