Mathew Rawlins

"My first impression of Dr. Rawlins was that he was young and might not have the experience that I would want. I quizzed him mercilessly about his education, how many surgeries he had preformed, what kind of complications he had had and how he had dealt with them. He was more than patient with me and put my fears to rest while at the same time explaining all the risks. He is a very skilled surgeon. He stays focused on the real issue of long-term health. Because of this, he takes a more conservative approach than I was looking for at first. After being in the hospital and hearing nothing but praise for his work, I now appreciate his care and concern. He is so caring and compassionate. He has a remarkable ability to be cautious and conservative with my care while at the same time reassuring me that everything is progressing without a hitch. His office staff is very sensitive and friendly but they do sometimes have scheduling problems. For instance, they scheduled my surgery for December 5th when Dr. Rawlins was going to be out of town; it had to be rescheduled. I was not informed of this until I came for an appointment a month later, an appointment, which was on my paper work but not in their appointment book. They had to scramble to fit me in. It was an altogether disappointing day. I would like more aftercare but what he offers is adequate. Two week, three month with lab work, six month and one year. I think there should be yearly follow-ups for life. Dr. Rawlins is a skilled, well-respected surgeon with a delightful bedside manner. I would highly recommend him. "
