Orientation complete!

May 20, 2009

So, I attended my orientation Tuesday night, May 19th.  it was a LONG night, but I'm glad it's done.  I seem to be ahead of several in the class because of my insurance.  Before I could do the orientation I had to have my psych eval and clearence from my insurance so that part is already done for me.  I see my surgeon for my first visit on July 8th. and I have my exercise class schedualed for June 24th.  I'm a little sad that the sleeve doesn't really seem to be an option but I am going to talk to the surgeon about it anyway.  My primary care dr wants me to get the lap band and I was leaning towards the RNY.  Now I'm not really sure.  I guess I will have to wait until talking to the surgeon before I make the final decision.  I am very excited to start my new life.  I have already started cutting out and making some of the changes that need to be made so I was happy about that.  It's been about 2 months since I've had even a sip of pop.  It's hard sometimes but I'm doing it.  I have been watching alot of youtube videos.  I was extremely suprised to see how many people have documented their journey on there.  If you haven't checked them out you should.  They go through everything, pre-op, post-op, liquid diets.  They show you products that they have tried, what they liked, what they didn't.  It has been great to watch all of them.  Everyone here and on youtube have been great inspirations and help to me.  I appreciate each and every one of you.  I truely believe people met online can change your life.  If not for all of you I'm not sure I would have the strength to get through all of this.  So thank you!
