I was super skinny until I hit about 3rd grade. Then it started coming. I wasn't fat but I was one of the "bigger" kids. The older I got the more weight I gained. In high school when I decided not to play any sports the weight really started coming on. I always avoided the scale but I graduated wearing a size 18. I stayed about the same until I was 20 and got pregnant with my son, pregnancy was great, no sickness and no appetite, I actually had some size 14 maternity pants. I had my son and weighed 214. One year later I weighed about 255 and was wearing a size 22 !! I reached my highest weight of 282 at the end of 2007. I had thought about WLS in the past but I decided it was time to get serious. In March I went to my PCP for a physical and found out I had full blown diabetes and hypertension. In April I started my 6 month weight loss program required by my insurance. I also started looking at and researching surgeons. I settled on Dr.Kuhn and had my 1st visit with him in August. I knew he was the one. I completed my 6 months (or thought I did) in September. Kelly (insurance lady at Dr.Kuhns) didn't think the April notes would cut it so I went to another appointment in October and my pre-d was submitted and denied. Turns out BCBS didn't like the May visit either. So with 5 days left in Novemebr and it being Thanksgiving week I called on Monday and begged for an appointment. They got me in Wednesday morning. Pre-d was sent in for appeal and I was APPROVED on 12/15 !! I can't wait to begin my new life. My biggest thing is my energy..right now I have NONE! I can't wait to run and play and go with my son!!
