I posted a message on the Diet & Nutrition Forum last week to clarify what we as the Forum moderators can and cannot do. As Registered Dietitians we provide accurate nutrition information to many types of individuals including general information about WLS. Unfortunately, many people were under the impression that we would be providing personalized nutrition therapy on a public forum. This is not the case due to ethical and liability reasons.
Our website, eNutritionCare.com provides online nutrition care delivered exclusively by Registered Dietitians at a very reasonable price. Just as any business must market itself, moderating this forum is part of gaining exposure and more importantly the trust of a group of people who can greatly benefit from accurate nutrition information from WLS exerienced RD's. I have seen far too many WLS patients experience great difficulty and failure with the nutrition aspect after surgery due to a simple lack of guided nutrition intervention.
