Hi Josii: It took me about 4 months to get my pre op letters from psyc eval, heart Dr. eval and my lung drs eval. then I waited about another 4 monts to get all that paper work to my Dr. on Jan 31 I was able to have my insurance paper work submitted to my Insurance company for aproval. I began at that time to prepare for surgery. in May 31 I went back in and got my surgery date and on July 22, 2002 I had my surgery so it took me about 15 months start to finish and now I am on my way. I am 3 1/2 months post op and my life is exciting and very active already. since Feb preparing for surgery I lost 70 lbs and since surgery I lost anadditional 77 lbs sofar. I have lost 9 cloathing sizes as well. It is all worth the wait. Go for it and God Bless you on your Journey. Sheryl Open RnY July 22, 2002 516/453/377/160

Hi Josii: I am taking paxil 20 mg. now and was taking 50 mg. before surgery. I dont think antidepresents will keep you from getting your surgery. I feel we all need some help the first year after surgery. I is nesseserry because we have so many hormones and feeling going through us the first few months that we need it for calming effect. When you loose weight as fast as you do aftersurgery your body goes through a lot if different things the first few months.please dont worry about the anti depressents keeping you from surgery. I want happen. Sheryl

JOSSII~~ I already had my gall bladder removed Lap and they were able to do my WLS lap. But, sometimes the surgeon doesn't know until they actually start the surgery.

Tami D. 21 years, 7 months ago

Josii, I had my Gallbladder out laprascopically a year before my RNY.. and it was done Lap as well so, yes, you can have it done if your doctor is willing to do it. Good luck! Tami
