Yesterday I was supposed to go for my pscyh eval but they called and cancelled it on me due to the doc being out sick, so I was a little bummed about it and she said they couldn't get me in until Sept 30th, I was really bummed then, but this morning they called me back and said they could get me in on the 15th, YAY!!!!! :) GOD IS GOOD!!! I have prayed and prayed that things will go smoothly and work out for me on my WLS journey. I have been working on being more patient and understanding and giving it all to GOD! I am learning new things about myself as I go, step by step and day by day. I am determined to become a new and better person along the way

YAY!!! I was able to have my 1st consultation scheduled to meet Dr Nease and discuss surgery. I am super excited. I have to admit I am not a very patient person and I have to wait until Sept 8th for my appointment for my psych eval and now I will have to wait until Sept 23rd for the consultation, but at least they are both scheduled and I am one step closer :)  

Well as I was looking online, again...at my insurance website, I found a section that said the sleeve was considered an exclusion, so I guess Ill be getting the RNY.

I attended the seminar last night. Wasn't as "scary" as I thought it would be. But, I am still "stuck". I cannot decide which procedure to have. I am in between having the sleeve or the roux en Y. Can anyone provide some feedback on the 2? My sister is going to have the sleeve because she does not want to have to deal with dumping syndrome. But im leaning more towards the Roux en Y because Dr Nease said it has a little bit more weight loss within the 3-6 months. I just cant decide.Please help!

SO HAPPY TODAY!!! I was able to get my appointment with my doctor moved up from the 27th to this morning!!! She wrote the letter of recommendation for me, did my EKG and all the blood work (9tubes) and got the copies of the stress test and my chest xray, now all I have to do is attend the seminar tomorrow and ill be ready to get my consultation scheduled!!!! SUPER EXCITED!!!!! keep your fingers crossed things keep going as smoothly as they have been. :)

Today I made the call to see if I met the criteria for wls. I had looked at a few websites, and have a few friends who had the surgeries and were successful. I can say I have many mixed feelings, not only am I scared of the unknown, but also anxious of the possibility that I can have the body and life I've always dreamed of having and be healthy. I was surprised when I received a phone call this afternoon from the office. I found out I do meet the criteria for wls :) that made me very happy and even more anxious :) I set a date to attend the informational seminar and I also filled out my registration form and sent it thru the website link they sent me. Now all I have to do is wait for the info packet to arrive in the mail to make the next step towards my doctor to get the required paper work needed and then attend the seminar and go from there. I am some what relieved that I have been able to take the "first steps" toward wls. I have thought about it in the past but was afraid of pursuing it. Im ready for a new beginning and a better and brighter future with my kids.
