Sept 2012 Blog Update

Sep 23, 2012

Hard to beleive that it has been 2 years since I got the call about being accepted into the program.  I can remember the Food Funeral like it was yesterday. I would so have this surgery in a heartbeat again.

I lost the most amount of weight during the first 12 months and I was stuck at 197lbs for a while past that.

This month I decided to forget the VSG and eat what I wanted!  Everyday I would stop at the local 7-11 and pick up a Apple Fritter and 2 Monster Zer0's(no calories in the drink so they are ok).  I would eat the fritter all day and drink both energy drinks my noon, Then eat my usual at 5pm for dinner.  Well it worked I weighed in at 191lbs this morning. 23 days into the new diet and it seems  to be working for ME. (6 pounds down)

I am not the person to follow post-op as I am not doing things by the book.(or lack there of).

Update on Skin Issues:  My GP is documenting all incidents/accidents that occur with my extra skin. I will be challenging MB Health to have my surgery covered.  Arm fat is getting caught and stabbed on trees/shrubs and not mention how much it hurts to pull start the equipment all day long for my job.  The pain is incredible when the fat swings almost all the way around.

Update on *Wrinkles"  Wow it is amazing how many I have since My body shrunk and head grew. I wake up every morning and look into that mirror and think..maybe Prep H might work.  If it shrinks those things in/on your butt, then maybe it will reduce the bags under my eyes.

Update on Iron Level  *TMI *  I have always had very very heavy periods and since VSG surgery my iron levels have dropped even lower.  This month was 7.  I am scheduled for a removal of the uterus!!  Yahoo.

Christmas Day 2011

Dec 25, 2011

I am still 193lbs and still classified as overweight according to the BMI Charts!  I do have lots of extra skin, bat arms, no boobs.

I actually let someone take pictures of me this year!!  I am usually the photographer that way I could hide behind the lens.

Merry Christmas to all,

December 4, 2011

Dec 04, 2011

The scale has officially stopped!!  It has not moved since my 1 year anniversary.  So all you skinny people that have been worried that I will surpass you, need not worry anymore.  I am not 193 lbs, which means that my BMI 27.7 and I am still overweight.  Not off the charts.

This year at christmas is going to be great, I will actually be able to eat Turkey in the sliced form that it comes off the bird in.  Last year it was like babyfood.

I consumed my first drink last night, a whole 1 litre of Smirnoff Vodka.  Wow, what a feeling, just like when I was 18 and new to the bottle.  No hanger today, so time does not change that!!

Photo update time again, Age 18 in first photo grade 12!!  Second photo age 40 and I was able to wear the same sweater!

365 days, 1 year later POST-OP

Oct 23, 2011

The scale likes me a bit better now.....195lbs and holding far to long!!
The weight is very slow at coming off now.
The massive amounts of lost hair are now coming back now.
I cannot sit down long enough at night to watch my favorite programs(1 hour long shows)

I love my sleeve and love the me that was hiding in that 'FAT" body for the past 20 years.
Would I do it again, YES.
Sooner, I should have taken out a $8000.00 loan and gone to Mexico to have it done!!

STALLED AGAIN!

Sep 06, 2011

Update:  Stalls happen all the way though this process.  I broke the 201lbs stall that I was on for over 4weeks!  Now I am stalled at 197lbs, going on 2 weeks.  Hopefully after "Aunt Flow" is done this week I will have dropped again.

I am 197lbs in the morning and 202 in the evening!  I guess that is from all the water I consume during the day.  Today is September 6th and the daytime high is around 28, and I am not even hot or tired this year.  I could cut grass all day and then ride by bike at night if I wanted too!!  Some nights I do, 4kms on the bike.(only when there is no wind).

Some of the girls from the meet and greet want to run the 10k Manitoba Marathon in 2012.  I am not sure if I have the dedication to train for it or not.  It would be a good bucket list thing!! Plus it sure would make our surgeons proud.

I am going on a plane next month(October)to visit my parents in Abbotsford, BC.  The last time I flew was on our honeymoon(18yrs ago)I was the same weight then!!

June 2011

Jun 24, 2011

This month has been very very wet here in Headingley, Manitoba.  It has rained every week since my parents arrived from the west coast(Abbotsford, BC) May 21st.  They arrived on my 40th birthday.  Their time here was short according to our 3 children.  They left on Thursday June 23, it was a very emotional departure.  They will not be back to visit until June of 2012.  Needless to say this past month was not great for the weightloss. OH WELL!!

I am working fulltime in the field with our company business again!!  Not like this is something new but, a lot of people ASSume that I work in the office.  I have been in the field for 8 years now!!  I work hard and used to think that I could eat like a 16 year boy.  I guess that is why hit 311 lbs last year in August 2010.  My brain still thinks that I should be able to eat more that I actually can.  Last year I would eat:

2 pieces of rye toast with peanut butter, 15oz cup of tea with cream and sugar for breakfast.
McDonalds for lunch: Double Big Mac Meal SUPERSIZED too. (Mayo on the side for the french fries)
Dinner was 8 perogies with sour cream and 6 sausages.
Snack was Salt and Vinegar chips!!

Man things have changed now.... 8 months later I still drink the same size tea only with 2% milk(most days).
Peanut butter foldover for breakfast.
Lunch is a soup from Subway/Safeway or where ever one can find soup!!
Dinner is 1/4 chicken breast, 2 tbspn veggies,
Snack is a popsicle.

At 8 months post-op I now weigh in at......94.8kgs or 208lbs.  I have gone from a 5x top to 1x (I never wear clothing that looks like am one of those famous People of Walmart)  You do the math to figure out what I have LOST!!
