Was resleeve on 12/3/12. I'm almost 3weeks out . Still having a lot of pain in the tight side of my torso . It feels like something is being pulled inside of me .

Hello, its been a couple of mionths since i've been here. It's been ok. I've lost 60lbs in 9months, but I'm not happy with it. I know a lot would say congratulations but I think I should've lost more. I know one of the reasons is I haven't exercised but still I've seen a lot of people on this site that have lost a lot more without the exercise. I feel I wont be able to loose more. Its so hard! I need some motivation. I've even thought maybe I chose the wrong surgery. I need encouragement.

Hello my OH friends... I have been feeling very dissappointed, depressed, upset etc..... It's been 3months and I've been stuck at 35lbs for weeks.  I don't know if I'm doing anything wrong but I desperate.  I need all of your advise.  I've been exercising about 3x a week.  I see other people on OH already lost a lot more pounds than me.  Maybe I'm over eating.  Can anybody send me an idea of what they are eating?  I don't know what to do...

my wounds are almost healed.  They are closed already all of them.  Thank God.

ok, so far I'm doing good.  Yesterday 3 of my 5 wounds opened up, stitches fell out and my wound opened.  I had  1/2-1 inch deep wound.  I was so scared it look like when you poke a piece of meat with a knife yuk.  So I had holes in my stomach! Had to go to my pcp today (stitches needed to be removed per my surgeon) but I also wanted her to check these out.  My wounds had to be filled with saline and a gauze and I'm going to the surgery department tomorrow to have them check these out... My pcp said she thinks they don't look right.  OMG I hope I don't have these holes in my stomach for the rest of my life!  I also asked her for a referral for a nutritionist.  I don't want to do this alone without professional assistance.

As far as weight, I have lost about 17lbs.  Yippee!! Before my surgery I was weighing about 286lbs and today I weighed myself and was 269. As far as hunger, yes,I do feel hunger.  I have read of people not being hungry.  I do get hungry about every 2hrs.  Today I've been drinking my protein shake and I'm back to work.

and everything went well.  Like everybody else has mentioned everybody at Jerusalem clinic were wonderful.  They had a full house last Friday.  It was 8 of us that day getting surgery.  I was like the 5th one to get sleeved.  I am so excited.  Just worried that I might over eat.  I've been drinking a lot, I feel full all day. 

I would recommend Jerusalem clinic to anyone that wants to have their surgery and low cost.  Since we had a full house, If it wasn't for my daughter that was with me, I think I would have struggled a little bit.  Right when I got out of surgery my daughter was with me, handing me everything I needed and helping me with everything.  I think it's better to bring someone with you if you can. That night she was offered to go the recovery house or stay in a sofa at the clinic.  She chose to stay at the clinic.  I am very thankful I hardly had any gas, a little bit sore on my stomach.  Saturday I went to the Recovery house, and that was a lot better, less noisy.  Claudia (the nurse attendant at this house, they have 2 houses right across each other) was waiting with lunch for our companions.  I rested a lot.  My daughter became friends with everybody there and she had fun.  The one thing I was a little bit disappointed was that I never saw Dr. Almanza after I left the Clinic.  On the second day we all went to get our x rays after drinking our yummy blue drink .    Everybody came out fine.  They gave us a copy of our x rays.  I went to the recovery house and had some chicken broth.  They wouldn't let us drink anything besides water, gatorade or popsicles until this test.  I went to bed and rested the rest of the afternoon. My daugter went shopping with the others.

The next day I felt a lot better and went shopping.  Make sure you negotiate prices at the shops, they start at like $22 -$25 for a poncho and we got it down to $10.  DON"T GO with the first price. 

Ok now I'm on another goal, lose the weight and keep it off.  I feel that I can hold more onces than some people can.  This is kind of worring me.    Well see.  I'm sorry but I'm not too good at writing and detail, so if you have any questions, please email me.  Oh by the way the scale at the clinic was broken so I couldn't weigh myself before or after. I don't have a working scale at home, so that's on my list of things to do... BUY A SCALE... any suggestions on what kind? 

OMG I'm a day from being sleeved.  I'm so excited.  I arrived San Diego this morning... Staying at the Ramada Inn Airport.  Nice hotel, nothing fancy.  Nice staff and it was $79 per night with a free shuttle to the airport.  They also offer Continental breakfast.  I will be taken to the airport again tomorrow morning to go to Dr. Almanza's.  I'll keep everybody posted as soon as I get back.  I don't know if I will have access to a computer in Tijuana...

As I had mentioned before, I was appealing with the state, but I've decided I'm going to self pay.  Even if I win the appeal, I don't want RNY I want the sleeve.  Caresource will definitely not pay for the sleeve.  I have scheduled my surgery for March 17, 2010 with Dr. Almanza in Tijuana, Mexico.  I'm super excited, a little nervous but excited.  After reading all the comments and post, I've decided this is the surgery for me and I'm going to do it.  My daughter or mom will probably be going with me.  As of right now all I'm waiting is for my passport.  I sent it on Feb. 8, 2010 and I have not received it.  This is what's holding me from buying my airline tickets.  Pretty soon, I'm be in the losers bench.  Thanks to all of you for all  the information given on OH.  I don't know if I would have been so confident if it wasn't for the info here.  I'll keep you posted.

12/11/09 DENIED BY MY INSURANCE - APPEALED (THEIR REASON? NO UNCONTROLLED CHRONIC CO-MORBID    DISEASE) I HAVE ASTHMA, JOINT PROBLEMS, GERD, URINARY INCONTINENCE, MILD SLEEP APNEA.
12/18/09 MY APPEALED DENIED AGAIN
12/30/09 MY SURGEONS OFFICE SEND PAPERS AGAIN TO INSURANCE (CARESOURCE) TO HAVE IT RECONSIDERED
1/14/10 DENIED AGAIN - REQUESTED STATE HEARING.
1/21/10 SAW MY SLEEP FELLOW AND GAINED 10LBS!!!!!!!!!!! I AM READY TO CRY.  BEING TREATED FOR MILD SLEEP APNEA

This is keeping me up at nights.  I've considered self-pay, but that would take months for me to have the $.   I don't want to wait anymore!  I also requested to have my insurance changed by the Job & Family services from Caresource to Wellcare ( these are the 2 government plans, Medicaid, in Ohio) but they say I cant I have to wait for open enrollment in November.  One reason they can change me is if Caresource will not cover me for something and Wellcare does.  So I tried it, I told them why I wanted to switch.  I'm waiting on that too.
