2 Days Out

Jul 08, 2010

OMG!  The nurses told me that I would feel like I had been hit by a truck.  I have been lucky and been virtually pain-free so I was a bit cocky and thought I had dodged the "pain-bullet".  But it FOUND ME!! Yeeowch!! I left the hospital at about eight last night and the ride home was really bumpy.  Then I had to climb a flight of stairs to get to my 2nd floor apartment.  I was still feeling okay, just slighty tired.  I took some of my pain medicine and settled into my own bed.  I awoke at one thirty this morning feeling like I had been not only hit by a truck but then also dragged behind for at least two miles!  I was sore EVERYWHERE!  I had tenderness in places I didn't know existed!  I took some more pain medicine and went back to sleep.  I woke up around eight thirty still feeling pretty funky.  I got up and walked around because that seems to help with pain and tenderness.  I slept again and finally got up around 11:30.  I feel better as the day has progressed.  I've gotten in about 16 ounces of crystal light and about 8 ounces of skim milk mixed with Carnation SF Instant Breakfast.  The hard part is taking all meds.  I like to be very scheduled and the pain medicine makes me feel groggy so it's hard for me to keep a schedule of medicines/vitamins intact.  So I've taken to writing everything down.  That is helping somewhat.  My sisters are staying with me and they had Wendy's for lunch.  It smelled good but I had absolutely no desire for any of it.  I used to would have died to have someone eat that in front of me and me not have any.  It's weird for me not to want anything like that.  I'm really excited at the changes that are taking place in me emotionally, mentally, and physically.  This has changed my life!
