OK so it has been a LONG time since I updated my profile.... What's new in my world since 12/2006?
My weight has settled in at about  +/- 175 lbs. Honestly though I haven't been able to get into the gym for more than a month. I am working towards getting my butt back on track and getting back in there though. I am still wearing size 16 jeans and can fit into a 12/14 blouse.
Our daughter was in a very serious accident on 5/19 and spent almost a month in the hospital....hence the not being in the gym thing.  She had to be cut out of her car and air lifted to the hospital. She broke her wrist and had surgery on it. She broke her pelvis in 4 places. She had a big gash in the top of her head that they didn't sew up because they were getting her stabilized. She was cut up and bruised up from head to toe. She had to wear a neck brace for more than a month because she had severe neck strain. She was treated for a brain injury!!!  BUT MY GOD IS BIGGER THAN ANY ACCIDENT!!! She is going to be OK when she has healed up. It is just waiting on bones to heal at this point. She has to go thru physical therapy for the remainder of the summer and likely far into the next school year.
Our oldest son left for Basic Training on 6/3/07. He seems to be doing well there and we couldn't be prouder of him. He tells us that he is 2nd in command for his platoon. He says he is having a great time and already has made many new friends.
Jeff (DH) has been doing well with his surgery too, he's almost 1yr. out. He has lost about 65 lbs. so far and says he wants to loose 35 more to be at HIS goal. We chose to set our own goal weight and not go with the weight chart standards.
Nothing else new or exciting that I can think of at this point. Will write more later and do a better job of updating my profile in the future.

Nov. & Dec. 2006

Dec 30, 2006

OK, so I didn't update this for Nov. or Dec.
I hope that you had a fantastic Holiday season. I sure did. My 18th anniversary was on 11/5/06 and then came Thanksgiving and then came December and all the Christmas parties and Christmas came way too early, not to mention that we went to my mom's in Slidell, LA from the 22nd-30th(had a great time and wonderful visit) and then my baby (Jacob) turned 11 on 12/28.

I didn't loose any weight! I am weighing in at 185-190 depending on the day.

             Hope you have a
       FANTASTIC NEW YEAR!!!!!

Oct. 06 (1 year post)

One year ago I weighed 267 and today I weigh 185.
I wore size 26 pants and a 30/32 shirt and today I wear a size 16 jeans and an XL shirt.
**Before surgery, I couldn't fit in the seats at amusement parks. I rode almost every ride at Silver Dollar City 7/5/06 & 7/6/06. *9months post-op and I fit in the seats and the ride attendant didn't have to squash me into the ride!

10/12/06: I LOVE,LOVE,LOVE my band!!! I didn't make goal by yesterday, but you know what? I am absolutely OK with that. I have time to loose more weight and can do it. I am so amazed at how much better I feel since I have lost the weight I have. I have had so many scale victories and non-scale victories since surgery. My best accomplishment since surgery is having found more confidence in myself.

09/01/06: After a couple of weeks working with my special kids at the school; I am absolutely in love with them. I am loving this job more and more every day. I am amazed at the end of the day as to just how tired, both physically and mentally, I am. I definately get a work out ALL DAY LONG.***I am so excited to be working FULL TIME again. I have been on a LONG hiatus of just working part-time for the past few years.

My weight has stabalized out at about 190 and I fluctuate between 190-195 lately. I know that I need to step up my work out routine. I am hoping that the aerobics class is going to start back up again soon.

JULY 06 (9months post)

No real weight change since 6/27***still weigh 205.
7/1-7/7: We went on vacation to Branson, MO and had a blast. Ripley's Believe it or not, The Titanic exhibit, Silver Dollar City(2days),Shopping, arts and crafts at the activities center at our time share, swimming everyday and lots, lots more. I am sooooo excited about this trip because during the 2 days at SDC I rode every ride I could get in line for :-) and I FIT in the seats. I didn't even have a second of fear that I might not fit, the lines were long for the major roller coasters and I know I would have died from embarrassment if I hadn't fit.

JUNE 06 (8months post)

06/07 is my daughters birthday, she is 16!!!
6-09-06: OK OK I went out to eat for lunch and dinner today. I cheated big time. BUT I also got my bike today and rode it for 2 miles. That isn't far, but to me it is a BIG accomplishment. I haven't been on a bike since I was a kid and to go down the road 1 mile and back is major to me. Planning on riding everyday, my goal is 8 miles.
6/11/06: I am 8 months post-op today!! I have lost 62+/- pounds since surgery. I am now riding a bike 2 miles a day, 2 times a day.I have been consistent for the past 3 days.
6/19/06: Got fill #3 today. WOW it hurt today. For some reason it wasn't easy to access the port and the numbing agent didn't work either. I think it was hard to access because it is my TOM and I am suffering with horrible cramps. No other problems, doc wants me to be walking 4 miles a day even if I am riding a bike. He feels that I won't be getting much exercise in on a bike, compared to walking.
6/27/06: It came! My DH is approved for his surgery! SHHHH don't tell anyone! He got his letter on Saturday, and I am so excited for him. Now I want to call the doc and see what the next step for him is. My DH reminded me that, A.) I have to wait until the doc gets their copy of the approval letter and B.) that I already know the next step since I have already been there.***OK OK so now you know how excited I am for him.

MAY 06 (7 months post)
OK so it is May 3,2006 already.I am still 220 by my scales and I was not looking forward to my last appt., it went fine, I had all the excess fluid off and weighed close to my home scale. ALL SCALES ARE EVIL! I'm not trying to make anyone think that they aren't.
My DH is looking into being banded also,SSSHHHH don't tell anyone. He's a very private person and doesn't want me to blab to anyone and everyone.
Exercise-a necessary EVIL. Something I need to make more time for daily.
5/31/06:I am getting a bike in a few days! I am to short legged for the bike I already have. I just didn't feel safe to ride it. Summer is here and school is officially out so I do not have any excuses as to why I can't find time to exercise. ***9/1/06Other than the fact that it was a million degrees out side in Arkansas. I really hate summer and winter- but give me spring and fall and I'm good.

APRIL 06 (6 months post)
04/02 is my oldest sons birthday, he is 17!!!
04/09:Down another 5 pounds!!! Absolutely cannot wear a size 24 dress anymore, they are way too big on me now. Things have been going much better for me since I re-learned to slow down my eating and take smaller bites. ***I have gone from a 45.8 BMI to 36.9 BMI in 6 months! That is 8.9 points on the BMI scale. I have gone from being MORBIDLY OBESE to just being OBESE.

52 pounds gone forever and 65 more to loose to be at goal! If I understand the % math correctly- I have lost roughly 45% of the weight I plan to loose! Hallelujah and Thank You Jesus! I owe it all to Your Glorious Name.

04/17/06:OK it is my TOM so I am up to 220 again. It is water weight and I am not worried about it other than the fact that I am going to see my doctor in a few days and am not sure I can pull it off before my appointment. I can't go in and see him again and not show any loss. The last time was traumatic enough to me. Food choices are good, I am getting in plenty of water and exercise is going well, so I am confident that it is only water weight. My rings are all to tight for me and my legs are swollen again.

MARCH 06 (5 months post)

3/13/06:I got my 2nd fill and am doing great. The doc said that I had only lost 2 pounds in the past 2 months, but I was having some real issues with fluid retention. He sent me to see my PCP and I was put on a fluid pill. I lost 10 pounds overnight and still have swelling so I hope that I can get a true picture of my actual weight loss when I get the fluid retention issues resolved.
3/22/06:I'm 5 months post op and have lost 47 pounds. I seem to have REAL restriction now. No play time on eating, if I don't chew my food right or take too big of a bite- it is comming back up. I haven't had a PB or Slime since having this new fill, but I have had some real pain when food has wanted to stick. Thank God it didn't stick and passed thru my band. BUT I am here to tell you that IT HURTS when your band decides you didn't do your part right!! I am still having issues with swelling so I still don't have a clear picture of what my actual weight loss is. My PCP has ordered me to take the fluid pill 2 times a day and I started that today, so I hope to see the issue resolved very soon. I want a truer picture of how many pounds I have actually lost. 2 pounds in 2 months makes me want to just bawl like a baby....no way that is acceptable to me.
3/31/06: What a difference a few days makes. I have found myself "stuck" 3 times in the past few days. The band will smack you down in your tracks just when you think that you are invincible. I was in a hurry every time and ate too fast and am sure I didn't chew well, and my band wasn't having it. My tummy has gotten accustomed to me eating slowly and chewing my food to mush. When I don't slow down and listen to my body, the band is there to make me. I don't suggest that anyone go through the pain of being stuck more than once. Evidently I have rocks in my head and am a slow learner.
