Reached Goal in 11 months

Dec 27, 2010

Not that anyone reads these posts I thought to make time to post on how well I did. I currently weigh 139 pounds. I managed to lose all my weight in the eleventh month. I work out twice a day and get in 80-100 grams of protein. My surgeon says that I do not need to lose anymore weight however I still work out twice a day. Not having a hard time with anything. I find that I am addicted to exercise and hate it when I miss a workout. Life is good

On the road to freedom

Oct 29, 2009

Well what a rocking week this has been, I was finally released Monday from the hospital. Spent 6 days in the hospital. If you would of talked to me a day after I would of told you that I regreted this decision as I was in so much pain but I am better now. I have all my medicines and my husband has been the greatest supporter and care giver. I believe the best is yet to come. I can not wait to get more active and be able to chase my granddaughter around. I am also getting in a lot of water so I think it will be easy going for me. The other thing I worried about is being hungry but I have had no hunger pains since surgery so I am happy that I am having a better time of this. Will need to buy a scale as I do not have one. Thanks to all the people that left me supportive messages. I am blessed that the lord led me to some wonderful people!

Something to remember

Aug 12, 2009

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

"Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven".

Almost Ready to submit to insurance

Aug 11, 2009

I went to my nutrition class today and filled out all the rest of the paperwork, got weighed and had my picture taken. As it turns out my primary insurance wants a large endless list of things before they will even consider you and my secondary insurance does not require much at all.

The decision was made today to turn in all that we have and have my primary insurance deny so my secondary will come in and pay as primary. I will have to pay the 20% but I really want this to happen this year and with all the swelling, I do not think I have months to wait!

All I have left is the psych eval and I meet the surgeon on August 18th at that time they will submit to insurance and hopefully we will get a date soon! Also I will meet again with the nutritionist and go over my diet plan after the surgery. I was happy to hear that my doctors are moving to a new facility and I will be having my surgery at the new mercy west hospital!

I picked Mercy as they are a center of excellence and I feel I will get the best possible care! So much to learn yet. Thank you all who read this and god who is my rock and my wonderful husband who is always there for me!

Getting much closer

Aug 02, 2009

I finished my testing on my heart on Friday and also talked to the nurse where I am having the surgery. August 11th I will have my nutrition class as well as talk to the surgeon and nurse and see what my insurance requires. The nurse told me that they will send home some samples of protein shake and we should be able to set a surgery date. I so hope that I can set a date as I don't know how much more I can take with not being able to move around a lot. I swell up so much and they still haven't found a reason for all the swelling.
All I have is the sleep apnea test and I am set. I think I will order some samples of protein shake to see what I like. I have always liked protein shakes so drinking them again won't be so hard.

Beginning phase of getting approved.

Jul 28, 2009

I have already went to the seminar and filled out the paperwork and now I am just waiting to hear from my surgeon to get the process going. I called my insurance company and lucky gastric is covered. Since I have already met my deductible they will pay at 80%. She couldn't tell me what the requirements are but at least I know that weight loss surgery is covered. I called my secondary insurance and I am also covered for any type of weight loss surgery.

My primary will only cover gastric but that is okay as that is what I really want!
My second insurance will cover 85% and the doctor's with unlimited days in the hospital. She said there are a few requirements such as BMI and other problems I am having. I am so happy right now as I know that an end is in sight I just hope really soon as I need it badly.

Right now I am having severe swelling to a point that I can not walk that great. I have been tested for a lot of stuff and so far all my organs are great. Since they can not seem to find out why I am swelling I am on water pills and have a test on friday with the heart doctor. This test I am scared of because  I have to get injected with tracer and they take pictures of your heart. I am hopeful again nothing will be wrong.

I just hope the process will be soon as I am in so much pain! I want to be able to walk again and enjoy my children and grandkids. This summer has been very painful for me as before all the swelling I had started a exercise program before work and I was doing so well until all the swelling. I guess my weight will no longer carry me. If you believe in god in all can you pray for me?

I believe you can never have to much prayer. I know god will get me through all of this.
