I would like have a smaller stomach than what I have now. I have an apron with a grade 2. I am 375#s and I am also looking at getting a breast reduction, from a DDD to a DD.

7/23/05:  I haven't been able to get any insurance information, but I have managed to lose 15#s. It's a good start in the right direction. I'm just watching what I eat and doing a lot more exercise with my son's help, especially running around behind him all through the house. I'm moving to Colorado to be with the man I love so I will have a lot more support to get this weight off.

8/30/05:  I'm still looking into having the surgery. I'm having more problems with high BP and losing my breath. The elevation here is very high and I get short of breath very quick. I'm looking to get some recommendations anyone here locally in the Firestone/Denver area for doctors and what kind of financing works best. Wish me luck!

10/31/06: Well, it's been a while since I've been on here and as far as losing weight, nothing has changed. I said I was moving to Colorado back in August to be with the man I love? Now I'm back in Charleston and we are no longer together. It was a waste of my life, but I really enjoyed the mountains. I'm still about the same weight, but I've had surgery in July. I was told I had an ovarian cyst and before I could have it safely removed, it ruptured! I got an infection which caused me have a complete hysterectomy and an appendectomy. Now at the age of 32, I can no longer have children. Today, I also remember my first son, which would have been 5 years old today. I had him still born at 4 1/2 months. I am now again interested in having the surgery and my options may be limited because of Medicaid. I don't know where to even begin my diet trail since I have to have 6 months of doctor monitored diet trials. Who knows if that will even be possible in my case. I will try to do something though. I'm looking for options in the Charleston area if anyone knows of a good doctor.

05/18/07: Here is the new update!! I am now a resident of Pensacola, FL. I got a job promotion and was asked to move here. I'm still struggling with my weight and haven't found any headway yet. Of course as many of you know, it's hard trying to get insurance when you find companies that have a weight restriction. I did find a company today that would take me but they are one of those discount plans. I was really surprised when they told me I was approved and that having the surgery wouldn't be a problem. Then my grandmother shot all that down and suggested that I check out the BBB, since the offer sounded too good to be true. I haven't lost any weight and in fact, I think I've gained some since my last update. It's becoming harder and harder to do any kind of exercising. Can't do any long term standing or walking. It's getting harder and harder everyday. I really need help with some insurance suggestions or financing options. Oh by the way, I just recently got married to my long time love, which is also my son's father. He is very supportive of everything I do.--MDF

11/4/07: Well now I'm back in Charleston. I didn't think I was going to move back, but things change and now I have to start from square 1 with my surgery process. I am 33 years old now and still over 400lbs. I know it's not healthy but I've limited myself to 2 meals a day but I haven't noticed any changes lately.

The PCP I have now doesn't seem to want to help me with my situation. He told me a while back that he would write my recommendation for the surgery, but hasn't done anything about it since then. I can't afford any weight management programs and I definitely can't do much exercise because I hurt so much. My friends do the best they can but this kind of pain doesn't go away with just Tylenol or Lortabs. I just want to be able to do all of the walking like I used to do. That was all I did back in high school because I didn't have a license yet. So walking was my way of being free.

Any suggestions from people who know about the dealings of SC Medicaid and a PCP who really wants to help, please let me know. I would like to get the ball rolling a little faster than what it is now.--MDF
