APPROVED FOR SURGERY!!

Mar 25, 2008

I just wanted to let everyone know that I have finally been approved for surgery and the date is April 23. As of right now this is set, but I may be able to get it done as early as April 9. It just depends on what the doctor says.

I want to thank everyone for their prayers and following me along in the neverending journey. I will keep you updated on the progress.

Spiraling Downwards...

I am beginning to believe that I'm supposed to look like this for the rest of my life!! I'm still having problems with my back and legs, just recently found out my cholesterol is high, and I'm waiting to get tested for sleep apnea. My husband is supporting me as much as he can, but I know he doesn't understand what I go through everyday. He's a little overweight too, but not as much as me. He can easily workout or cut back on eating, but I wouldn't be able to workout or do any walking.

Now if that doesn't make matters worse, I am having problems with not having Medicaid. It was cancelled due to my caseworker's lack of responsibility and now I have to work on getting it back for both me and my son. I may have the option to pay cash, but I wonder if that will move me along the waiting list with no problems. I SURE HOPE SO!!

I'm depressed again!!

I now no longer live in Pensacola. I lost my job and moved back to Charleston. I am still finishing up my online classes and have found another job, but that means I have to start all over again with the process of finding good doctor that will help me along with my surgery. I know MUSC is a good hospital but the waiting list is so long. I am still having terrible back and leg pains. I don't get tired from walking to and from my car everyday, it just hurts so bad that I have to stop and sit down in a nearby chair for a hot minute then I walk the rest of the way. It's embarrassing to do this but if I don't, I may fall out. My friends try to help but they really don't understand what I'm going through. They've never had a weight problem like me.

Anyone who has a PCP in the Charleston area that is willing to share, please let me know. I don't feel that the doctor I have now is really concerned about me or my health.

Finally a PCP!

It's me again. I still haven't been able to lose any weight, but I have found a PCP that takes my insurance. I have that appointment on August 6 and hopefully that will get the ball rolling for the surgery. I graduated from ECPI with a diploma in Medical Administration on July 7. Now I'm taking classes again towards a degree in Business Administration. Once I'm done with that then I will finish out the Medical Administration degree. I am so proud of myself with finishing out school.  I've come a long way Baby!!!!
