13 days post....25lbs lost-on clear liquids who wouldn't :)

May 11, 2016

Little update- doing so much better. I have energy, I decided that if my mental attitude change my body will have to follow

  1. 1st Doc's visit went well, had my post-op class, reenforcing rules and diet and the temporary phases and their importance
  2. lost 25lbs (only found out at the doctors, not trying to weigh myself daily or I will go nuts. I decided that weekly will be my thing)
  3. went back to work on tuesday-I'm a nurse so no lifting or pushing for me, but still busy enough that I can't even dwell on food. Alhtough i do have a reminded on my phone for water, since it's so much easier to drink water I make sure to have 1 watter bottle every 2 hours (which takes me an 1 hr to drink anyway)
  4. looking forward to my pureed phase, which starts tomorrow  so many recipees just building in my head from this website and others and my own:  have been craving avocado so a nice modified guacomle will taste delicious
  5. feeling good about my decision to choosing a healthier life and getting the tool that will help me achieve my goals if used correctly

Hope everyone is doing amazing and having a good week!!!!!!

2nd chance

Apr 29, 2016

Hello Everyone,

I've been creeping on this site for quite a long time. I've actually been an inactive member since I considered my first WLS, lap band, back in Dec 2011. I did great, at my highest 375, managed with dedication and perseverance, to lose over 100lbs and dropped to a low weight of 224lbs. However, and i take full responsibility, after getting ulcers and severe acid reflux and not finding my "sweet spot", the lap band became a nuisance more than a friend. I of course took full advantage and threw most of my healthy habits out the window.

Deciding to not let it beat me, I decided to contemplate the gastric sleeve. so here I am, starting from scratch and looking forward to my second chance, which I always believe.

I started my new journey again, I had revision from lap-band to sleeve gastrectomy on 4/28.  I'm already home and feeling the temporary buyers remorse (I went through the same thing with lap band).  However, i am so excited about this journey and have been ready for this change in my life. Even though I've never really poster and mostly creeped post, I feel so connected and decided to join since I don't have the same support group that I had with my first surgery. I've always loved the idea of giving back and that's what I intend to do. I have always believe nobody can relate to the struggles of WLS patient than another WLS patient.
