I haven't always been as round as I am tall. But I have been over weight since I gave birth to my youngest son back in 1976. I gained 65 pounds with him, and never took it off. Through the years the weight just kept on going up. Now I am 243 pounds. Wow! How could I let this happen? I have tried all kinds of diets, but they only work for a short period of time, and then I am putting the weight back on. I started thinking about WLS a year ago, but I wanted to give the diet game one more try. The same thing keeps happening. I will lose 15 to 20 pounds, then my body rebels, and I can't lose any more weight. I get discouraged and start eating like I used to. I have tried and failed once again. So, now I am ready for WLS. I will be 54 years old in June, and I am tired of struggling with my weight. I have a wonderful husband that is very supportive of me. He wants me to be happy and healthy. We have been married for 34 years. We have known each other since 8th grade. We have two grown children (both boys) and 3 granchildren with one more on the way in May.
So,my journey begins. I had the consultation in March. I will be seeing the nutritionist and my surgeon (Dr. Foreman) next Wednesday, April 9th. I am very thankful this forum is here and I look forward to posting my adventure and reading how others have done with the WLS.
