I've been overweight all of my life, at least in my own perception.  My mom always sad that was just big-boned, maybe so, although I wouldn't know, considering I haven't  ever seen bones underneath all of the fat!  I was always picked last for sports, or at least in the last 3!   I pretty much have done my best to avoid exercise and sports, although I've been dieting and trying to eat healthy off and on since elementary school.  I've never been able to stick to a diet.  I think the most that I've lost an at any given time is 35 pounds.  For all the times I've lost, each year I'm heavier than the year before.  I have sleep apnea, high blood pressure, acid reflux, PCOS, Plantar Fascitis, back pain, and knees that snap, crackle, pop!  Last year I found out that weight loss surgery was an option for me and I decided it was time to put an end to my out of control weight problem!

I started this journey February 6, 2007 by attending a seminar for my original surgeon of choice, but when my surgeon suddenly announced his retirement, I was left to find a new surgeon.  I chose to go to Dr. Garth Davis and the next chapter in my journey will start February 12th, 2007!  I am scheduled for surgery!  I was approved on December 21st after only 2 days!  My insurance company has been great so far!  Well, that's my story so far.  I can't wait to see what develops next!!
