My Lap-Band Surgery Experiance...
Mar 28, 2007
I had my Lap-Band Surgery 3/27/07 at the Palms of Pasadena Hospital in St. Pete. Dr. Ernest Rehnke was my Surgeon. I arrived at 11:00am I was called into admitting around 11:15am Then went to the Pre-Op Room where I was getting prepared for Surgery. You know the place, "Take all your clothes off and put this Gown on" I was treated fantastic, with understanding and caring people taking care of me. I was 4th on the Batting Order for Surgery. I was totally Confident with my Surgeon, and his Entire Team. Around 2:00pm I was being moved to the Holding Room, so I know it's not Far from now. After about 20 mins there I was brought to the O.R. I still was very much alert and starting to get nervous. I guess just from the Surgery itself. 5min later my Anesthesia Dr. came in (Dr. Nash) He said he was putting something in my IV that would make me relax a little bit. That's all I remember, I was Out Cold! The next thing I knew I was coming to in the Recovery Room, from what I heard I was a Handful, I guess I was very demanding. I remember nothing. I remember being brought up to my Room and the only thing bothering me was a Terrible Headache. The Nursing Staff where awesome, they got me some Tylenol w/Codene and I was out like a light. I had woke up a couple times during the night, and the Nurse asked me if I felt like walking, so we did. Went back to sleep, woke up around 6:00am Headache was gone, and I had no Gas Pains (never did) I just felt my Stomach was sore, like I had been Punched in it about 20 times, but it wasn't that bad at all. I was discharged at 11:30am. Got home and just wanted to sleep, I slept pretty much the rest of the day and night. I woke up feeling pretty good, no major pain, just as I said a Sore Stomach. So far everything is going good. I haven't been Hungry at all yet. I've been drinking as much liquid as I can, before Burping it back up, still have to get use to my New Stomach. But all in all I feel Great.
It Starts Now!
