Well it has been 3 wks tomorrow since my surgery. Planned on writing more frequently but have been so busy and lazy.  Well I had some problems with the anesthesia , had to be reintubated as the first time went in my esophagus. I then had wheezing at the end of the surgery.  Surgery was around 330pm and I went home the next day at 7pm.  The following day I felt like I ached all over and lo and behold had a temp of 101.6. Went to the ER and was diagnosed with left lower lobe pnemonia.  This is an unusual location for pnemonia usually is in the right lobe.  I atribute this to the anesthesia problems.  I quickly got better and was able to be up in the mall shopping 3 days after surgery! Christmas was wonderful , I spent it with my 20 yr old daughter who lives with me and with my 25 yr old son who traveled up from southern california to spend the week with me. I do find now that I get so tired so easily. 2 hour naps are the norm for now.  I have lost 15 lbs since the 7th.   I was going to return to work tomorrow however I am going to take my surgeon up on his offer to be out of work till the 4th. I hope to work on getting more excercise time in each day. Making new friends online has really helped me through this process.    Here's to the New Year

Well I sit here at 1215am wondering if I have made the right choice.  Sigh I know that I have just I am a very good nurse but a bad , anxious patient.
I am looking forward to being healthy, having energy , off medication and living a long life!  My surgery is at 3pm.  I feel a little sorry for myself as my daughter is unable to bring me to the hosptial, she has university finals today.  I think she is more nervous about them then my surgery which is how I like it.  I got a call tonight from a co worker to see how I was and to say she would pray for me and come see me on wednesday. This means a lot to me , she lives 1 hr away!  She had  a vertical sleeve procedure earlier this year and will be a great support.

Ok gotta go pack that bag and get to sleep.  Here's to a new beginning!
