Hello everyone...My name is Kari and I am from Buffalo, NY. I am 31 years old and will soon be 32. I have 2 beautiful daughters ages 10 and 5, they are my everything and I want to be here for them for everything they need me for, because they deserve to have their mommy here for a verrry long time. But if I don't get my weight under control I cannot ensure them of this. I have always been overweight...but this is the absolute heaviest I have ever weighed, I dont even recognize myself sometimes, and it scare me...32 is not supposed to be my mid-life but at this rate it very well may be....I have high blood pressure, this I know...and I also know that theyre may be other issues that will be found out on this journey, but I am no longer afraid and too embarassed to go to the dr. and find out...Theres so much I want out of this life and I am tired of just existing and I want to begin living. I have a wonderful support system and am looking forward to this journey, I don't expect it to be easy, things being easy is what got me fat, I am ready to put in the work to become healthy, I 100% whole heartdly believe that wls is the tool I need to put me on the right track....I have tried every diet and program with short lived results, spent wayyyy to much on personal trainers and always end up losing then gaining more than I lost....very frustrating...so when I came across this website I was elated to read the stories of others who feel the same way that I do, it's soooo comforting to know that I am not alone and have people to talk to who understand me and where I am coming from...so as my very first step on this journey I am attending my very first support group and will be speaking with ppl who have had, and hope to have wls....Hopefully I will be able to find a primary doctor to refer me for the wls, my current pcp referred me in june of 2008 and i was soooo excited, but then when it came to getting the letter of support he dragged his feet soooo long that I just gave up...so I am going to find a doctor who understands what I need and will help me thru this....stay tuned, I will keep you all posted, please pray and wish me luck........
