"I had surgery on 2/29/13 with Dr. Andrei. I did very well, thanks to the skill of this gifted surgeon. Dr. Andrei cleaned out lots of surgical scar tissue from other operations, and did my surgery so that I had very minimal pain after the first day. In fact, by the fourth day post surgery I was off all pain meds.
No only did Dr. Andrei do a great job, but the staff is incredible. I heard from Andy twice a day for the first two weeks post surgery and always knew that I could call if I had any questions or problems. And, Pamela, the nutritionist, has been great. She has been great with helping me to learn how to eat slowly and carefully and has been very good with understanding my individual needs. Everyone else in the office, from Carrie who always accomodates my schedule, to the lovely folks who take care of all the other details is wonderful.
I live about an hour and a half from Dr. Andrei's office and there are plenty of bariatric surgeons within a few miles of my home. I chose Dr. Andrei because from the research I did, he had the most experience doing surgery and when I met him I knew that he would do what was best for me and he did. I was initially planning to have the sleeve, but after all the testing was done, Dr. Andrei felt the bypass was the correct surgery for me because it would resolve my long standing reflux and help me lose more weight. I am happy with the decision made and am learning to use the tool I have to finally lose the weight.
