I am 59yrs old at my highest weigt of 350lbs. I attended a seminar in Brantford ON by Dr. Graber from Utica NY. This was the first that I heard that RNY was now covered by OHIP.
I have since found out that the hospital in Guelph was doing this surgery with a wait time of about 8 to 10 mths not the 2 - 4 years that Dr. Graber told us at that seminar.
I am going to my GP this week to get him to send out a referral and get the ball rolling. I know he will give it as he mentioned the lap-band to me once before but way to expensive.
I have been doing research online and really think that the RNY surgery is the way to go for me. Just beginning my journey.
