I have not posted in a while. I have not been on the scale in a while. I do notice a difference in my clothing and activity tolerance. I am still working as a LPN so I have the crazy nursing schedule. I am scheduled for a 2nd fill on 3/5/08 the day before my birthday. I will post again after the fill. If anyone has any question please ask....
My First Fill !

My first fill was ok. It did not hurt at all. My Doctor put in more cc's then needed. He asked me to drink a cup of water and the water DID NOT move. Oh my goodness! What in the world? I have never experienced that type of pain in my life. He removed some of the fluid and the next 2 cups went down w/o any problems. This was my first fill experience.......

Well, I know it has been some time since my last post. I am now about 7 weeks post-op. I have lost and regained a bit. I now weigh 248 IBS. I started this journey @ 278 IBS. People are starting to notice the changes. I fell a little more confident within myself. I PASSED my boards so I am a LPN and no longer a GPN. I feel like my life is starting to move in the right direction. I would encourage anyone who is over weight to consider WLS if all else has failed, and if your health is in jeopardy.
5 Days Out!

Today is day 5 post-op. I must admit this surgery caused more pain then I expected. Days 1-3 were the worst. I thank god those days are over. Today I feel much...much... better. I have been on clear liquids although I have had full liquids here and there. I have not taken anything for pain since day 2. I noticed that the pain medicine (Tylenol 3 elixir...EWWWWW) made me feel soooooooo sick. I did get on the scale today and I have lost a total of 16 IBS which I am very proud of. I have never lost more then 8-10 pounds on my own.

Wow! Tomorrow is almost here. I am really going to go through with this surgery. I had my doubts about the lap-band but after careful review, I think that this is the best option for me. I am not to nervous right now. I will probably be shaking tomorrow. LOL!!! I am ready for a new beginning. I am also very Hungry!!!!!! Please keep me in prayer.

I have 4 more days until my scheduled surgery. I have so many different emotions playing in my head. I am confused, unsure, happy and sad all at the same time. I am not depressed at all. I am just wondering will this be the right option for me. This pre-op diet is what is taking me through. I try to stick to the “Clear liquid”, but I am sort of hungry. The hunger is not the problem. The problem is the diarrhea that occurs at any given moment…..Any Given Moment. Well Thanks for reading. Please keep me in prayer! Thanks

I got the call on Wednesday 8/8/07 from my insurance company. I am scheduled for surgery on 8/30/07. Seems so far away. I am excited.
Lifestyle Managment Appointment

My lifestyle management appointment is done. It was very successful. Now, I guess, I will wait for approval from the insurance company.

I had my chest x-ray done today. I am officially done all pre-op testing. I still have to meet with the lifestyle management team. I have an appt for next month, because I can not get out of clinical until then. I hope that it will all fall in to place in do time.
