I have been working out and though some numbers havent changed much, my body certainly has!
Okay, I just got back from my fill...no biggie really! ! Dr. Gould asked if I wanted it numbed up, and I declined. My memories of getting "numbed up" hurt more than the procedure..lol So, I got 2cc in my 10 cc band. He said this was the biggest fill I would ever get, as essentially it was empty. He was pleased with my weight loss which made me happy...lol So for the rest of today, I am on liquids, tommorrow stage II liquids then eat as tolerated. I look forward to being full again..
Almost there !

I did join my local gym with full membership and had a 1 hour workout with the trainer. She set up a decent plan for me, and I am averaging 3 days a week. I go at 5:50 am, as soon as it opens, then go to work from there. It sets a GOOD tone for the rest of the day. When i exercise, it seems as though maintaining good eating habits just fall into play easier. Go figure. I will log more after my meeting tomorrow.
The Gym
May 29, 2008
Well..yesterday I joined our local college gym with a basic membership. That gives me the use of the pool, and the indoor track and a few exercise alternatives. I cant use any of the big machines...but for now I am more interested in walking and swimming. I walked 4 times around the track yesterday, omg, I thought I was going to pass out. But then did 40 minutes in the pool. I did one lap back and forth, did some jogging in place, leg exercises, and did another lap or 2. Man..I was bushed by the time I finished, but it felt good. It was nice to move in the water with no pain. Today i feel pain. LOL I am trying to keep a smile on at the moment because even though I was overweight 2 years ago..(by less than 50 lbs though), I was pretty active and had a lot of stamina. Since I quit smoking, it seems all systems are down. ~sigh~ Well..better days are coming. I am glad to have this site to keep me on track, and a smile on my face.
Moving forward

Busy times here..yikes. Well today I made an appointment for my psych evaluation. He is a specialist in Bariatrics, and his billing dept is going to work on the auth. to see them if in fact it is needed. So as I can minimize my days off, I registered for one of the required classes that day with the DHMC program. They generally have a speaker and nutritionist there too. I should be able to get a bunch more information there too. Its quite a process, but it feels good to be involved in the process, and it helps me firm up my committment to go ahead with this and succeed. I am so inspired by so many of the folks here on the site, and am thankful again I was steered in this direction! Sherry
Ticker Troubles....

In the Beginning
May 14, 2008
I am ready to start my journey. I am going to call and get my psych evaluation set up in the near future. i have an appointment in June with my PCP, and we will sit down, and go over what I will need from her to complete everything as quickly as we can. There is no urgency, but now that I have made my decision, I need to run with it. I am 90% sure I will be going with the Lapband, but I will remain open minded to the RNY as well. I am thinking I am in a good mind frame to work WITH the Lapband. I quit smoking 16 months ago, and though it was not easy, I put my mind to it that I would do it. i did!
I will try to write here at least once a week, and if I can ever figure out how do do the tracking..ugh, I will get going on that too.
