Everyone has their own personal reason for getting WLS. Mine isn't as sad or significant as others, but it was simply to finally feel comfortable and live life how I wanted to without limitations. I also wanted to live to have children, ride rollercoasters at my favorite theme parks, and even though it has never happened to me personally, I did not ever want to experience the embarrasment of having to purchase an extra seat or seatbelt extender. I am very young, only 18 as a matter of fact, and have been larger my entire life. With a height of 5'10" and a pre-op weight of 315 lbs, I was entirely disgusted with my eating habits and my self image. I always have had a bubbly personality, but I know I could blossom more with all of the baggage off of me. When I was in 6th grade, I was already 200 lbs. I needed this surgery to prevent my risks of diseases, humiliation, and of course, death. Overall, I'm happy I got this surgery and really can't wait to see my body transform!

love always, samantha
