Hi everybody,
Today is day 3 after surgery and I am starting to feel human again!  If I could just get rid of the rest of the CO 2 gas, I think I would really feel pretty good.I called Dr.S's office and made my  1-week post-op visit. Wished I could have made it for Friday so I could go back to work Monday but I will see him on Monday the 14 th and hopefully be back at work on Tuesday. I wasn't too upset because Monday is my anniversary, so what is one more day,LOL.

Hi All, I had my surgery yesterday and it went well.I have had a good deal of discomfort but with pain meds, walking and heating pad, it is tolerable. I know it will get better. It only took 30 minutes but they had a little trouble waking me up so I was in recovery for about an hour. Then I went to ultrasound to check out my thyroid but it didn't give them the answer they wanted so I will have to have a biopsy. My doctor and the radiologist told me not to worry because 95% of the time they are benign nodules. I will wait until I recover from this before I have that done, they said it was not an emergency. My husband and daughter have been so great. They have been walking my dog and cleaning the kitchen and cooking for themselves. My husband even got up with me last night when I couldn't sleep. I am so glad I did this and can't wait to start seeing results. By the way, I am not hungry in the least. I am having to force fluids but have no desire to eat anything, Yeah... first time in my life, I have ever not wanted to eat ,LOL! STB

Hi everybody,
Saw my surgeon today for my last pre-surgical visit. I was a little worried this week at first. I had to have a CT scan because of abnormality on my chest x-ray. Well this turned out to be nothing but they found a thyroid nodule in the process. Dr. S thinks it is probablly benign like the majority of them but is going to do an ultrasound for follow-up after my surgery this Friday. So at least nothing is delaying my surgery. I am getting excited about it now and and the same time will be glad when it is over too! Will post Sat. if I feel up to it. STB 

Hi , I had my pre-op interview and work-up today. It went well but got a little scare at first. My EKG showed a Q wave which can be post MI (heart attack). Since I have no history of heart disease the anethesist thought it probablly was just a normal variation for me. I guess I have a strange heart LOL.

The hospital called today to pre-register me over the phone for my appointment Monday. My husband and I were on the way back from the beach. Isn't technology great!

Went to see my nurse practioner yesterday for a BP check. She knows about my surgery now and seems very supportive. My BP was lower than it has been even with the meds so I wonder if the pre-op diet has anything to do with it... whatever works! She also told me that when I start losing weight, to keep a close watch on my BP because I may need to cut my meds in half.

Getting closer to my surgery! Went to my educational and first nutritional class Tuesday. I go for my  pre-op labs, x-rays and EKG next Monday. Great Easter present!
