It's Been A Long Time...

Apr 29, 2010

I did not realize how long it's been since I've been on this website.  I'm laughing at my goofiness during the first year of surgery.  My weight is down to 248 and I have been holding steady for the past 4 months even though I still would like to weigh at least 200 lbs.  I can now wear 20's and some 18's.  I never thought this would have been possible.  I still feel great and I can now eat just a little bit more than I used to but still not a whole lot.  Still can't (and don't want to) eat a whole sandwich, whole piece of chicken (except a wing) and still can't drink while I eat.  But what I can do is walk a couple of miles without being exhausted, exercise for two-hour blocks of time, and enjoy life without restrictions.  I wouldn't change it for anything (except skin removal).

Yippee!!!!!!

Today I got on the scale and it said 304!  I am so excited.  This seems unreal to me but I guess it is finally happening.  I am getting married on Sunday, 8/31/08 and my goal is to be under 300 lbs by this date.  I think it will happen!  We cancelled the "outdoor" reception due to Gustav but we will reschedule it at a later date.  I feel really, really good and I can never say enough how glad I am for having the surgery.  I can wear a size 26 comfortably now and even bought a pair of sized 24 jeans.  For the big girls out there, a size 24 can mean the world in terms of fashion.  If you are hesitant about having this surgery, please pray about it and proceed with it.  It is truly life changing.  You really do get used to eating 4 bites of food per meal!

2 months post-op, just made 40 and feeling great!

My current weight is 330.8.  I probably would have lost a little more by now but I don't exercise as much as I should.  After losing 27 lbs the first two weeks after surgery, my body kind of stalled.  Today is a new day, I'm 40 now and my goal is to be under 300 lbs. by the end of July.  I have to get off my but and work now.  Thank God I feel great and my clothes have all gotten too big.  Sex is great, I don't have to worry about fitting in or breaking chairs, I don't get out of breath as often and I had to adjust my car seat by bringing it forward!  I am so tickled.  I've finally gotten used to eating portions about the size of a half dollar and for some strange reason, I don't crave sweets as much as I used to.   That surgery was simply amazing.  Except for the "foamies" that happen EVERY time I eat, life couldn't be better.

Looking for an angel!

Surgery is scheduled one week from today.  I started a liquid diet because I really want to go in weighing at least 350 lbs.  I'm not sure what the procedure is but I'm looking for an angel.
