February is finally here!!

 It has been 2months since I have written and I remember thinking February will never come fast enough...well its here!! I have completed all my pre-op testing and class and I meet with Dr. Blackstone tomorrow to go over my pre-op lab results. The only real concern I have is that I have gained weight and that will cause my surgery to be postponed or will find out that my liver is too fatty and will have to have an Open RNY. For some reason, those are my only fears. I am ready to have surgery and to start the change that needs to take place in my life. I still need to prepare by going shopping for liquid protein, broth and SF Jello that is not red. I also need to clean my house so I will not feel inclined to do so when I get back home from the hospital.

Classes are going great. I am a bit behind in my independent study course and am hoping to get caught up this week. I want to be able to take my midterm shortly after surgery. I have to have this class done by late April in order to graduate in July. There are many changes I will be going through and goals that I will be attaining. It feels good to think that these major life events will be accomplished and off my plate. I am also looking forward to a family vacation with our close friends to Disneyland at the end of April. I will be about 8 weeks post-op and am hoping to be able to see a change in myself and to fit through those darn turn stiles a bit easier.

I am grateful for the support I have received up to this point and know that you and others will stand by me in my journey.
