Stacie a normal BP ( text book norm ) is 120\80 for an adult systolic being the top # and diastolic being the bottom # Bld pressures vary with age, sex, condition of the arteries, force of the heart muscle contraction, emotional state, and over all general health. the systolic # represents the force of the blood on the walls of the arteries as a result of the squeezing effect of the hearts left ventricle. the diastolic # is the residual maintenance as the heart chamber relaxes and expands. if concerned talk with your Dr. hugs and God Bless Maureen LPN

Stacie, I tried to email you but for some reason it didn't work.. but wanted to say about the diasloic and systolic that neither of them seemed to be out of range to me.. course it has been years since I was in nursing school and I know that the BP reading values have changed but unless there is something else going on I wouldnt worry about it being high.. BP usually doesn't have a normal both or an abnormal both.. can run around the board all over the place...Hope you understand what I am trying to say cause I have a tendency to over explain.. If all else fails ask your PCP

Stacie... CONGRATS on your success so far... I'm pre-op set to have an open RNY in June and I'm concerned about how fast I'll lose too, but I just try to stop and tell myself that however much it is, it's better than I could've done on my own!! I'll keep you in my prayers that God give you strength and patience and that everything will be done in His time, which is perfect! God bless you & keep you!! Hang in there!! :-)

Hi Stacie, Yep- I always read your profile and everyone elses!! Guess I am just a nosy ole woman!! lol NO, I want to learn all I can about everything to do with this weight loss surgery so I will not be scared if something happens- like now i know about the incision draining from your post. Its just little things that you read n file away in your brain for future reference! Something happens and CLICK a light bulb goes on and yep- I remember that happening to someone now! Thanks for updating your profile, seems like you are doing great to me. Take care and God Bless. DE :)

Stacie, I don't know how tall you are or your age. I didn't see that info on your profile. I want you to know that your weight loss is more typical than you think and it IS WONDERFUL. Please don't stress and compare. Keep a weight loss journal and take monthly photos. It will really make you feel better about your weight loss. I post mine monthly on my profile. I lost at the same rate as you. I am 11mos post-op and down 106lbs. Yah, some people have dropped that in 1/2 the time. I am really happy for them. But you know, I am really happy for me as well!
