I am a 38 year old, single mother. I am through with living a lifetime of being overweight. I am 5'7.5" and weigh 234lbs. I have recurring thyroid cancer, have been on high blood pressure medications since I was 26yrs old, I have polycystic ovarian disease, and am pre-diabetic. I am looking forward to making this monumental lifestyle change, and to step into my future with a positive and hopeful outlook. I have been unsuccessful at loosing weight and keeping it off: Weight Watchers, NutriSystem (lost 45 lbs--gain all back plus 51 lbs), and The Healthy Way.
I have been scheduled for Lap Band surgery on 5/5/11, and am pretty scared, but extremely excited. I don't feel prepared, and am starting to get nervous/doubtful that I can do this. I am definitely going through with the surgery (no doubt about that), but as I'm sure you all know, change is not easy.
