Hi, my name is Sylvia Cruz and I am 42 years young. I live in South Texas with my husband. No children but 3 beautiful dogs. Two chihuahuas (Bambino and Keyla) and one siberian husky (Sylvia). It's a long story on how the husky ended up with my name.
I have been overweight all of my life. It sure was tough growing up because I was called many names such as "fatso", "Minnesota crew", etc. The worst came during my first marriage which was a very violent relatonship. My ex-husband would tell me that I was so fat that no one would want me and that I should be grateful that he married me. After 19 years, I finally decided to leave and filed for divorce. He was wrong I did find someone who loved me for what I was inside not outside. Although, I have a great husband, I have struggled with depression and not feeling good about my weight. It has made me very insecure. I also have diabetes type 2, high blood pressure, cholesterol, osteopenia, sleep apnea, back problems, knee problems, and fatty liver. It took me a while to decide on having WLS. I was really scared but I finally did it. My surgery was on 8/9/10 and I have lost 22 pounds so far. I am very excited about the changes that will come. I want to live a healthier, happier life.
