I been fighting with my weight since I was 16 and began to get diagnosed in 2004 with a list of problems. PCOS, Von Willebrand’s Diseases, Interstitial Cystitis, Insulin Resistance, Chronic Pelvic Pain, CKD Stage1 10/2009, Solitary Kidney, and Unicornuate Uterus. Had several “promise this will fix this or give the answers” surgeries including having a Hysterectomy in 2006 which none of them really every did. The doctor continue to hound me about my weight.... one doctor so much bugged me I told her if she told me my BMI one more time in this conversation we are going to have issue (needless to say I never seen her again after that first visit).

I have been seeing a nutritional counselor on and off since 2004 and finally a few of the doctors (about 5) began to tell me about getting this gastric bypass. It was a long decision and when I began to try for the surgery my insurance company told me so many wrong things. So, I ended up not having an authorization number until 3 days before my surgery day. Talk about cutting it close.

So, now I am 6 days out and I am already off of all my medication expect for one. I am excited to see what this surgery will bring me and how much my life is going to change for the better.
