November 8, 2007: It has been quite awhile since my last update I have had several things going on at once it has been crazy! but thanks be to GOD for being with me every step of the way.  I am officially down 104 pounds for a total weight of 210 pounds October 27th made 6 months since my surgery and I have never felt better.  I am in a size 14 which is unbelievable considering I used  to wear a size 24.  Some of my friends tell me I don't need to loose anymore weight but I figure what can I do to stop it and further more I don't want to stop loosing weight I am proud of how I look I wish I had a little less flab but I will deal with that later on down the road... I have set a short term goal for right now which is 30 more punds off before the new year I don't know if that is realistic but that is what I am shooting for..... I really need to update this page with some photos so that is my project for this weekend coming I will post some updated photos of myself oh well until next time! may GOD continue to bless each one of you

September 6, 2007: Well I know it has been a minute since I last posted but I am now in a size 16 crazy right lol lol and my current weight 226 pounds.... I am doing well overall I don't really have to much of an apetite I would love to know if anybody else is going through this right now! I am also in flab town with my arms I swear no matter how much I try and tone them up they still are so flabby I will post some updated photos soon oh well until next time....

August 6, 2007: Well hey everybody thought I would give a quick update. Well first thing first
Current weight 237 pounds one pound short and a whole week short of my goal of 236 by July 27th oh well I am still very proud of myself especially since I am now in a size 18! YES a size 18 I still can't believe it..... Oh well my Birthday is on  Wednesday the 8th and I am going to two parties this weekend and show off my size 18 lol lol i will update again soon....

July 19, 2007: Well hello everybody I had my gallbladder removed last week so I have been taking it easy this weekI should be going back to work on Wednesday of next week if the doctor says all is well.  I am officially down 68 pounds as of today current weight is 246 pounds I may reach my goal of 236 by my three month anniversary after all.. has anybody else had their gallbladder removed as a result of the surgery and the rapid weight lost I would love to hear about it...

July 6, 2007: Well everyone I have starting setting goals for myself and I started a workout program.  I try to do something different each day of the week to keep it interesting and so far so good.  I am hoping to get down to 236 by July 31, 2007.  I know I can do it. Considering I went in weighing 314 April 27th and I am now down 59 pounds I think I can do it.

I am a 31 year old single mother of one, and I have been over weight for most of my adult life.. My weight has always been a constant struggle for me. I would loose weight and then gain all of it back plus some extra.. So I have made the choice to take back control over my life.

I like going out with my friends and having a good time. I love going to Church and spending time with my two year old daughter. I hate the thought of not being around to see my daughter grow up.... I went to see my primary care doctor yesterday 8-02-06, and she informed me that my blood pressure was still way to high and my current weight is 314 pounds

She has prescribed me yet another medication to get my pressure down... that makes three pills that I am currently taking to treat my hypertension.. On top of that I am getting a sleep study done to check for sleep apnea and I have to schedule an appointment to meet with the gastroenterologist to check and see why I keep getting heartburn so often... OHHH and did I mention I have to see a cardiologist as well..

Well it may seem like alot to go through but it will all be worth it in the end when I get my surgery done...Hopefully the next time I post an update on here i will have completed my consult with the surgeon that I want to perform my bypass.... His name is Dr. Kirkland and I have heard nothing but great things about him from this site and from my primary care doctor. So if all goes well the next step will be applying for approval.

Well it is September 15th and it has been several weeks since my last update and I am happy to report that my surgery consult has been scheduled for October 19, 2006. I went to see the cardiologist and he said everything looks good. My sleep study is scheduled for September 29, 2006. hopefully all goes well with the study. As for my blood pressure it is still very high and so my doctor has increased my medication... It is really reassuring to know that she supports my decision to have the surgery done. Well that is pretty much it for now I won't post until after my consult and after I have applied for approval.

Well i had my consult with dr. kirkland and it went very well, because of my insurance I have to go through this 3 month multi disciplinary regimen to prove that I will be readyf or surgery! (real bummer) but I have already got on top of it I met with this doctor on october 31, 2006 and I already have an appointment for November which makes things go alot faster.  i also need to provide Dr. Kirklands office with my progress from this 3 month plan I am on... Once that is complete I assume they will apply for approval for me! I am so very very excited I can't wait to join the loosing side! The good news is my blood pressure has come down dramatically! but I found out I have sleep apnea!

So I contacted Dr. kirklands office and they want my primary doctor to fax over all the information she has on my weight loss struggle, I called my primary office and had them send the information over so I will call dr. kirklands office back first thing to find out if that is enough to apply for approval or if I still have to wait to finish Dr. Rosen program... i know it sure seems like alot to go through but in the end it will all be worth it.  Well I have seen doctor Rosen twice already the first visit was just an initial consult..I have two appointments left with him and then my surgeon office can apply for approval for me.  I pray that everything falls into place and that I don't have any problems.  In the mean time my surgeons office has instructed me that I can start getting things done so I won't have any obstacles in my way when I apply for approval, so I am going to get my psych evaluation done soon i have to pay 200 dollars out of pocket but that is a small price to pay for a healthier way of life...

Well it is February 16th, 2007 and I have completed my Psych evaluation.  I contacted Dr. Kirklands office and spoke with Madeline she said once she receives the notes from that session she will apply for approval for me with my insurance company.  I will call Monday to make sure Madeline received everything, so I can be on my way

Well it is February 20th , 2007 and I spoke with madeline again and she said she was waiting to hear back from aetna in reference to the nutrition class that I didn't take, all of this is becoming a little frustrating but I am being patient and waiting.. I will call her back the end of the week to see what is going on... Pray for me everybody!

Well everyone today is February 28th, 2007 and I finally got a date! Thank you Jesus! my surgery is scheduled for April 27th I can't wait to be on the losing side! I have to get my cardiologist clearance and my Pulmonologist clearance done and then I will be on my way..

Today is March 12, 2007 and I received my cardiology clearance next is the pulmonologist clearance and then my nutrition class and blood work and then i will be on my way.  Today I also submitted my paperwork to be completed so that I can go out on FMLA with my job after the surgery it should only be a few short weeks I hope...

Well everyone I am home and recovering well.. I am still experiencing alot of discomfort, but I gues that is to be expected... They kept me one extra day in the hopistal because of nausea and dizziness but I am home now I am walking and getting my fluids in...
