"Dr. Miles was so nice. He was willing to address any questions and fears I had. Even though after hanging out here for the past year, most questions I've had have been answered. His staff is great. I had always wanted him as my surgeon (He did my friend's RNY and my sister's gallbladder surgery), but we had changed insurance for a time last year when my Husband was re-activated with the Army and Dr. Miles wasn't listed as a preferred provider. Since then though, my husband is a civilian again and our Blue Cross is reinstated. So I went in expecting he and his staff would be nice and considerate. But the atmosphere was also calming, you know, not hectic or rushed even though it was the end of the day. I think I may have seemed too unafraid of the procedure, because his nurse practitioner pointed the dangers a couple of times. Things went fairly quickly (he makes you have all the medical history forms filled out BEFORE your appointment). All I have to do now is have my psych evaluation, my labs done, and get my endocrinologist to write a letter, then we can schedule my surgery. Sounds simple, huh? I'll be 40 this year and this is my present to ME!"
