I am starting this a bit late but non the less I am starting it!
I started this journey back in September 2006 after my husband and I discussed this as an option for me. I have tried for years to loose weight and resigned myself to be fat forever. I have heard of people have GB and thought.. wow I could never give up food, I love it too much but this time it didnt bother me so I thought I better look into it.
The more we looked into it by going to seminars and doing research we (my husband and I) found more and more positive things about it. We discovered that my insurance is one of the best for approving it if your BMI is over 40 and also that because I had my son this year I have already met my out of pocket maximums for the year and will have to pay NOTHING for the surgery. We also discovered that you can have great health kids after surgery with the recommendation that you wait about 2 years and that is exactly what our plans are! It seems like this is perfect timing!
Everything fell into place perfectly. We needed to have surgery done by the end of the year and the surgeon's office and insurance all happened in perfect timing.
I have a surgery date of December 6, 2006 (2 days from now!)
