Nine Years And I Am Still Blessed

May 15, 2010

To all those who are still desiding whether or not to do this, I tell you this, You will give up alot but you also gain alot!
It is so damn hard in the begining, and you think you can't go on. You feel that you can't drink one more ounce of protien shake and you miss your soda pop and chocolate. But when those inches start to melt off, and you can't believe that you are that skinny. You are that thin, it's actually you, looking that thin!
I thought I would never weigh 148 in my life, but I did. I looked way too thin!! So I had to force my body to gain weight to where I actually look good for my body size. I am at a comfortable 159-162 pounds. Yeah water weight.
When I had my gastric by-pass we were the guinea pigs for the surgery. It was relatively new, and no one was really comfortable with the proceedure yet, and lap band wasn't a proceedure as of yet.
Yeah sure I was scared, but with all surgeries there are risks.
In my lifetime I have had 27 surgeries. None of them were elective, except the gastric bypass surgery.
The way the surgeries are handled now are so different than they were 9 years ago.
If a surgery gives you the chance to make your life better, I say do it.
Just make sure ladies that you get ALL THE FACTS beforehand. And talk to your gynocologist.

Eight Year's and Still Kickin'

May 23, 2009

Well Ladies and Gents, I have survived 8 years. I was one of my surgeons  first patients. Granted I didn't see him as much as I wanted due to my health issues.
I had other issues that kept me from driving back and forth to Denver.
I have major issues with my back and it limits me from alot.
I gained back 20 pounds over 8 years, which I don't think is too horrible.

My freinds all thought I was too thin before I gained the weight. I chew on dry cheerios during the day.....hehehe

I sometimes wish I didn't have the surgery. When everyone is eating pasta, or mashed potatoes, or eating some cheesecake.
I just look away and think of how I will look if I do eat that crap, and I feel much better.

I'll try to update this, but I am working on a novel at the moment and it takes up most of my time.

To all of you who are considering this life changing decision, all I can tell you is simply this:  you are going to give up that one vise you have, food.
You are going to have to learn to cope with everyone eating sweet things infront of you, and one more thing, when it's all over, you will look smokin' hot!

This is the hardest thing you will ever choose to do in your life. It's not something you can quit. So make sure that your doc is in it for the long haul too.

Some docs, not all of them, are scam artists, and can really jack you up! So do your homework before you pick a surgeon. Your life is in his/her hands.

Now that I have scared the hell out of ya, do you still wanna do it? Yeah, sure you do.

Just be safe, k?

Contact me @ [email protected] anytime with questions. put WLS in the subject line so I don't get rid of it...
