Okay...

Aug 10, 2010

So it's day 2 of the 5-day pouch test and I'm not going to lie.... yesterday was H A R D!  In the evening (after work) was the hardest.  With the aroma of dinner all around me was definitely a test !  I did okay though up until I took an ambien to go to bed.  Apparently, I decided (unbeknownst to me) to open up a jar of amish pickeled okra and had a couple.  I do not remember doing this... but I'm trusting that my husband is being honest.  HA!  I guess it could have been a lot worse.  At least I didn't eat any sweet stuff and I did a great job of sticking to liquid (CLEAR LIQUIDS) at work.

Today is day two and I'm feeling much better.  It's around 10:00 a.m. and I'm on my second protein drink.  I'm especailly loving the Advant Edge (french vanilla and dark chocolate fudge).  They are great really really COLD!  Anyway... in case you're wondering why TWO already.. I wake up at 3:45 every morning to get ready for work and since I haven't been sleeping all that great I was up at midnight.  YES, MIDNIGHT!

Although it is early into day two.... i already notice that my belly has decreased in size and I do feel better.  I don't feel bloated.  I'm hoping this isn't just in my head and it's actually the case.  I haven't jumped on the scale yet, as I'm waiting until day 5.  I'm hoping I start to notice my clothes fitting a little loose.  I will let you all know how it goes.

I just wanted to check in and let you all know... so far so good!  More to follow!  Many hugs to all!

Aug 08, 2010

It's been a while since I've been on this website.  I've actually moved to Germany and now I'm back in the states.  Boy have things changed.  I am in desperate need of getting back on track and need your help and encouragement.  I've looking for the diet that we're supposed to do when we no longer get the "full" feeling.  If you can please help please please let me know!  Thanks and God Bless!

Spicy Food

Jan 23, 2009

Well, I think I overdid it last night.  I decided I was going to have some Kimshi (sp?) and while it was wonderful I suffered through the night with pain.  I still have a little burning this morning but its tolerated.  I feel really bloated today and I'm not sure why.  I'm thinking it's because of the caffeine I've been drinking while at work.  I've decided to get back to my way of life....and take water to work rather than drinking stuff I know I shouldn't have.

I'm also concerned that my tummy has stretched a bit.  I notice I am able to eat more than what I could at first a year ago.  Is there something I'm doing wrong?  How can I shrink it again or is this possible?

Thanks for your support!

It's 2009 ...

Jan 06, 2009

Well, it's been a few weeks since I've posted... where do I begin?  I guess I should let everyone know that 2008 was a great year for me.  I got the RNY done in Sep 07 so had all of 2008 to feel the positives from it.  It took me about 9 months to really get to where I wanted to be and then my family and me moved to Germany in August.  When I first arrived in Germany I became very sick.  A couple of rides by ambulance and a few hospital visits in between I was finally diagnosed with Giardia.  I lost so much weight.. it was pretty gross to say the least.  I got down to 114 pounds and have been able to put a few pounds back on so I don't look like skin and bones.  I don't ever want to feel like that again... thank God for strong antibiotitcs.

Like I said, we live in Germany now and we are loving every minute of it.  We all went to the Zugspitz mountain for the Christmas holiday... Zachary (my son) wanted to snowboard.  Although I didn't snowboard because of a bad knee... my husband, Dan, and Zachary had a great time.  I had fun snuggled by the fireplace reading a good book.  It truly was relaxing.

We spent the New Year with friends and it was a great time.  A year ago I would have never gone out... ANYWHERE.  I would have made up some sort of excuse of why I couldn't go.  I always made up an excuse.  Now I don't do that.... I am a much happier person and much healthier too.

Sometimes I go off track like everyone else... but I'm always able to get back on the wagon.  I'm loving life and definitely don't want to look the way I used to.  Yuck!

I'm down 88-90 pounds... and have gone from a size 18 to a size juniors 3.  Life can't get any better than this.

I hope your weightloss journey is a great one.... and 2009 brings you as much happiness as 2008 brought to me.

Hugs,

Judy

Just checking in...

Nov 24, 2008

Well, my family and I moved to Germany back in August and so far so good.  We are truly loving it here!

It's been a little over a year since my RNY and life is wonderful.  The only thing is none of the "misses" clothing fit me... I now have to shop in the juniors department.  I wear a juniors size 3.  Pretty amazing.  Heck, I was happy when a misses size 2 fit... but they are too baggy now.

I'M NOT COMPLAINING!  The RNY has given me my life back!  I'm so happy and living life to the fullest!

Don't hesitate to get the surgery... you can't go wrong!  Ask me any questions you like and I'll be happy to help you!

Hugs,

Judy

Sorry It's Been So Long!

Oct 13, 2008

Well, it's been a while since I've been on here to post anything.  So much has changed in my life and I'm not complaining.  I recently moved to Stuttgart, Germany and we are definitely enjoying ourselves.  We are still in a hotel as our house is still being built.

I happy to say tha t I am down to 114 pounds since having gastric bypass surgery.  Yes,  I'm pretty tiny but I'm not complaining.  Some of the weightloss has to do with the fact I got extremely sick when I first arrived her which caused major dehydration and needing medical intervention.  Once the doctors figured out what I had they were able to give me antibiotics to fight it.  Needless to say, I feel better... much better and able to eat now.

I am not sure what else to write.  I just wanted to say hello since it's been a while since I've been on here.  I hope everyone else is enjoying their weightloss too!  It's been an amazing journey for me.

Hugs,

Judy

Update

Apr 28, 2008

I am happy to report that my hair has finally stopped coming out.  From about 3 months post-op until about 7 months post-op I lost tons of hair. I started out with very thick and pretty hair ... so there really wasn't a lot of damage done.  Folks didn't even notice but I definitely could because everytime I showered my hands were full of hair.  I bought Nioxin shampoo and conditioner for thin hair and it really helped.

For those of you  losing your hair... know that it will stop just as quickly as it started.  I did end up getting my hair cut in a bob which I absolutely love!  It's shorter than in my avator picture.

I weighed today and weighed in at 130 pounds.  So... only one more pound and I will have made it to Dr. Smith's goal of 129.  I will be 8 months post-op on May 11th... sooooo not doing too bad!  I started out 210 pounds for those of you wondering.

I am so happy that I had WLS!  I am wearing a loose fitting size 4 and SMALL tops!  I can't remember the last time I've worn a small top.  I know it's been many years though.  I am loving life and everything it has to offer!

For those of you who have hit bumps in the road... just hang in there.  You'll be so happy you did!

Hugs and wishing you the best during your weightloss journey!

Judy

P.S.  I'll post new pictures soon!

Update

Mar 26, 2008

It's been a month or so since I have posted so just wanted to let everyone know I'm doing well.  As of today, I am down a total of 73 pounds.  Not bad for 6 months post-op.  I am actually wearing a size 4 and they fit comfortably.  Size 6's are a tad baggy now!  Heck, my shoe size has even shrunk.  I used to wear a size 7 1/2 and now wear a 6 1/2.  I've had to get my wedding ring sized already and can't wear it... because it needs to get sized AGAIN.  Pretty soon... there won't be any gold left. Smile.

I had my blood work done by my family practice doctor and the results came back great!  No problems or anything.  HOWEVER, I still continue to lose my hair.  I'm not sure what the problem can be is all of my bloodwork is NORMAL?  Does anyone have a clue?

Well,  that's really about it for now... just wanted to write and let everyone know things are going great for me.  WLS is the best!  I have my life back and have the "attitude" to go with it.  Big smile!

Don't hesitate to email me if you have questions!  I'll be happy to help ya if I can!

Hugs,

Judy

Hello All!

Feb 11, 2008

Wel, it's February 11, 2008 and things are going along pretty good.  I'm down quite a few pound now and wearing a size 4/6 clothing.  I'm pretty happy to say the least but my hair is fallling out!  I am scared to death to even get highlights as I've always done as I don't want to add chemicals to make things worse!  Everyone tells me it will slow down but to date... the hair loss is still there.
