Ouch!

Feb 25, 2009

I keep telling myself that all the pain I am having now will be short lasting and it will be worth the payoff in the end.  Then I think..."screw that!!  This hurts!" and wish I didn't do it.  I am sure this is completely normal...right????  I feel less pain today than I did on Monday of course.  The area that is bothering me the most is my port site!!!!  I just can not bend to the left without feeling a tearing sensation.

I am doing great on my diet though.  I get to start full liquids tomorrow.  So, I am looking forward to that.  I have grown very tired of Jello.  If anyone can offer any encouraging words about how long this will be painful, I would love to hear them.  I am starting to think I am just being whimpy.

Post op Day 1

Feb 23, 2009

I DID IT!!  I had my surgery yesterday.  Gosh, it has been rough to move around.  My surgeon actually told me that I wouldn't have much pain.  I am not whimp.  I was burned in a house fire when I was 5 years old and have endured multiple surgeries.  It takes a lot of effort to stand and sit.  Once I am settled, I feel good.  I just keep thinking of the end result and how I just can't wait to have a great "after" picture posted and to feel SO energetic and healthy!

It's almost time!!!

Feb 19, 2009

Just 3 days away!!!  I have my Lap Band on Monday, February 23rd!  WOW!  It seems like just yesterday I was anxiously waiting to find out if I was even going to be approved.
I had an endoscopy on Wednesday.  I have a hiatal hernia so that is going to be repaired as they do my Lap Band.  Pray for a speedy recovery.  Thanks to my friends for all your support.

Still Waiting

Jan 25, 2009

I am still waiting on a surgery date.  The thought that it will be in the next few weeks is exciting.  I am ready.  I am taking my vitamins, calcium, watching calories (Mon-Fri only....I totally cheated this weekend with pizza), and drinking Sugar Free Carnation Instant Breakfast for protein.  I hit the treadmill, but aggravated my knee so I am going to have to figure out something else for exercise until I get some weight off this joint.  It will happen and I will be a totally new, energetic person!  Thanks for all the inspiration OH!!!

Not sure of a date but my journey starts today

Jan 19, 2009

I am pending my surgery date.  I know it will be sometime within the next 4 weeks.  So, I figured "no time like the present".  I started my 1200 calorie diet today.  It was actually pretty easy.  I had fruit and yogurt for breakfast.  A Weight Watchers lasagna and a 100 calorie tapioca pudding for lunch, I snacked on an orange because I felt like my blood sugar was getting low, and then for dinner the family and I headed to Pizza Hut.  I was good.  I had 2 small slices of a vegatable pizza, a small side salad, and drank water.
My husband is on the treadmill now but I plan to do 35-45 mins when he is finished.  We are all going to get healthy and it makes me feel so much better that my family is doing this WITH me!  With the inspiration of this site, I know I can accomplish my goals.
