Another Surgery...

That's right I have to have my Gallbladder removed.  I do not have stones and it looks okay, it is just not functioning.  Should have had it removed when I had my RNY.  Wish me luck....

Why ?????

I have gained 20 pounds.  Why am I eating all the time and the things that got me FAT?  I don't understand.  I know better.  MAybe I never did understand why I was over eating.  Also thought it was because I liked food.  Nice excuse.  I am going to the doctor Thursday to review my test results. (CT Scan, Gallbladder function tests).  A month ago had a scope and Dr Davis found ulcer(s), but was not told to change diet or anything.  Just given meds.  Issues have gotten a little better.  Not throwing up as much.  Maybe I should start.  Just joking.  My brain just can not grasp why I am eating like I am.  I know better and when I am eating junk I know I shouldn't but does not stop me.

Mentally drained....

Two Years...

Friday will be two years since my surgery / new life.  Thursday I go to the doctor for my check up.  There are some issues that I need help with:
 

  • Have trouble eating meals, at first, (not all the time). It starts with pain around the sternum, (the stomach hurts) and then I have to burp a lot. After a few minutes I can start eating again and finish my meal with no other problems. Junk food always goes down without a problem. Main problem is protein type foods. 

  • Other times I can start eating okay but get the foamies and have to vomit to relieve the pain / discomfort. After eating my meal. This mainly happens when eating meats by themselves, (not a casserole type food). Steak or BBQ or Chicken.

  • When I wake up, don’t get to much good sleep, my insides feel sore. Along with that I wake up in the night feeling like I have severe heart burn but after I urinate the pain goes away, (after awhile) or take antacid and it goes away quicker. This hardly ever happens during the day.

My weight is staying between 200-205.  I am not working to lower it just maintaining.  Can't wait to see the results of my blood work.  I still feel like blood work needs to be done every six months, not a year.  I am going to start having mine done every six months even if I don't have a doctor's visit.  Will post the results next week.

Been Awhile

Morning everyone.  It has been awhile.  I have been doing good with my intake of vitamins and water.  Not so good on my protein.  Not keeping track of how much I am consuming.  It may be good but I don't think so.  Having trouble with energy.  None.  Not sure if it is my thyroid or something else.  Doing blood work this week, so maybe I will find out. 

Eating sometimes is an issue.  Somethings make me sick and others hurt at first then after some burps and waiting I can eat.  I am not gaining or losing so that is good I guess.  Life has to change.  It is too boring.  I thought it would change and I would have all this energy and would do great things.  NOPE.  Still doing the minimum and sitting in that stupid chair too much.  I have work to do.

Court Over for today

Well it is over and my daughter came out ahead.  The feeling I have had today I do not wish on any father.  Seeing your daughter go thru hell and not being able to pick her up and make it all go away.  Helpless.  But as I said she came out better than he did.  Did not know how creative Judges can be. If anyone want specifics just PM me and I will pass them on.

All you fathers please go and hug your daughters.

Stressfull morning

I am dreading this morning.  My wife and I are going to court with my daughter who is going for her first court date about her divorce.  Only married 14 months he said he wanted a divorce because he did not love her anymore.  And of course there is a awesome little girl from their marriage and two other girls from other relationships envolved.

Been along time ...

It has been a long time since I posted something.  I have been a lurker all this time.  I am not at my goal of 200 pounds but for the last 4+ months I have been bouncing between 207 - 212.  Eating is not a problem and I feel great.  No issues as of today.  I have figured out what I need to do (water, vitamins, etc..) to maintain my current weight.  My plan is get thru the holidays at this weight and then after the first of the year work on the last 10 pounds.  My last visit with Dr. Davis he said he liked my current weight and looked good.  December 17th is my one year date and he will check my numbers to make sure I am where I should be.

Now for another type of update.  The people I work for has been very interesting.  Two men had Lap-band surgery a month before my by-pass surgery.  Two months ago another man had by-pass surgery and a lady is scheduled for November 17th, for by-pass.  And there is another man on his last month of the 90 day deit.  All but one of them are using Dr. Garth Davis.  The other one is using Dr. Robert Davis.  This makes for a good support team.  Three of us are looking at starting a support group that will meet during our lunch break at least once a month.  If there are any people who work for Dow Chemical in Freeport, who are interested, send me an email.

Call from the doctor's office.....

I received a call from Dr. Davis's office last week.  They have my 6 month lab work and my protein is low.  They said it is 16, where is should be 21 - 42.  Thought I was doing good, Wrong.  So I am trying to increase my protein intake.  Weekday are good but weekends I get to busy and/or lazy.

I am scheduled for my 6 month check up this Thursday so I will see all my numbers.  I am going to ask for more blood work in a few weeks so I can make sure I am going in the right direction.  I do not want to wait until another 6 months.  Wish me luck......

Back on track - I hope......

It has been awhile.  I have been working a shutdown, 12 - 14 hours a day, six days a week for several weeks.  It is over now.  Thanks goodness.  I could not find / make time for exercise.  I kept my weight in the mid 220's.  I thought that was great.  Last Friday I went and bought me a bike and have started riding.  Not sure the distance but I have a route that I am following. 

Monday went home not feeling good.  Slept for about 7 hours during the day.  So maybe I was just over tired from so many hours of work.  I did work a lot outside Sunday and rode my bike.  The weather was too good to miss.

My personal goal is 200 pounds and this morning I reach another milestone.  219, that's right below 220.  I honestly can not remember when I weighed below 220.  My wife thinks I look good where I am and says if I get below 200 I will be too skinny.  It is funny to lay down in bed on my back and see my ribs sticking up higher than anything else.  I really do have a Sternum and it feels deformed.  LOL
