Hello! My name is Kanda and I was given information from my surgeon to join this site. I am excited to meet others that are going thru what I am and for support. I am from Texas where I lived all my life until 2006 when I moved here to Colorado. I am married with one son. I have always struggled with my weight all my life. I never really thought about my weight effecting my health. As I got older the weight just kept creeping up and no matter how hard I try I would lose a little then it would stop. So as always I would get discouraged and stop and before I knew it I was back where I started and plus some. Like many I have tried everything. I started to be super super tired all the time, my blood sugar was dropping at least once a day, I the biggest I have ever been got some blood work done which in a long story short PCOS. I at first thought this was my answer because I figured this is why I can't seem to lose weight. I tried everything from low carb diet...to pills and I would only lose just a bit then stop. Long story short after many years of that I saw a commercial for the realize band and called a surgeon near me and asked for some more info and 8 months later (due to insurance requirements) This process has been good because I've been seeing a therapist and was diagnosed with severe obstructive apena. So I got lots of info that I didn't realize about my health that if I didn't do something I believe I would have gotten worse. I am looking for friends that want to know more about me and support and understand what it is like!
