Question:
Is there a vitamin alternative to what I am currently taking?

I am 3 weeks post-op and I am supposed to have 4 chidrens chewable vitamins a day. I am having difficulty getting these down, they are terrible. Is it possilbe to get all of my vitamin in 1 tablet that can be swallowed? I've also been directed to take 3 tablespoons of GNC amino liquid. It's horrid. They suggest you mix it with your water. Well, when I do that it makes it hard to even sip the water. Anyone have any ideas out there?    — Ruby S. (posted on October 7, 2002)

I take the adult centrum chewables, I don't like the taste either but at least it is only one. I never heard of anyone taking amino liquid before. If it is for the amino acids I get that in my protein shake. I take a Real Meals everyday it has 60 grams of protein, amino acids, and 40 other vitamins and nutrients. It also has biotin for your hair, and lean mass stimulators to prevent sagging skin. Check it out at www.protein-solution.com

Perhaps you could crush them and put them in pudding. At least it would hide the taste a bit. I heard the gummy vits are good, haven't tried them though myself. Good Luck!

I'm not a chewable girl, either. I take all my vites in swallow form, but have customized them for RNY. I mean, I don't just throw a vast sum of "vitamins" at the problem, but address it specifically. There is no one-size-fits-all pill that does it all, because your iron +C and calcium + D would always be separate, but you can cover the basics with 2 adult mutli's and some calcium citrate until you get up to full speed. Perhaps you can try some whey protein in water. It's much tastier & better quality than the collagens. I use 2 brands myself, but that's IN ADDITION to my whey drinks, which I enjoy.

Hey I use the Centrum Liquid multivitamin. It doesn't taste good but it's definitely not something that will make you sick and you only have to take a little. It's a lot easier on my stomach as well! I suggest you try that!
