Question:
BTC in Belvidere IL where does the family wait while I'm in surgery?

At the BTC hospital in Belvidere IL does the family wait in your room? Is there a cafeteria to hang out in? I've heard the hospital is a little out-dated on it's furnishings, it is scary like in vinyl or plastic chairs? Are the rooms private, semi-private or ward-like (as in four or more patients in a room?    — jocelyn (posted on October 27, 2002)

In the Surgery waiting room. Some hospitals give the people who are waiting a pager, and page them when you are out of surgery.

There is a waiting room on the same floor as the patient rooms. Your family can wait there, in your room, or if they want to go somewhere they can as long as it is within 15 minutes of the waiting room. They will recieve a pager and they should go to the waiting room when it goes off so that your surgeon can tell them how you are doing, and how the surgery went.

The BTC in Belvidere is a little older than I thought it would be but it was I feel well equipped for what my needs were. The waiting room is on the same hall with the patient rooms and is very modern and up to date. The recliners and chairs are made for obese people and are very comfortable. My hubby wanted to take one home! There are pictures on a bulletin board with people's success stories.
